It looks like crooked Canadian media tycoon Conrad Black won’t be released from his prison dormitory anytime soon after the 3 judges hearing his appeal against the sentence he received after being convicted with his co-accused of defrauding shareholders of his newspaper company Hollinger International Inc, and for obstruction of justice, upheld his six and a half year prison sentence.
The evidence that convicted Black was stacked against him, and the prison sentence was appropriate, though he could have faced a lengthier jail term, but Black didn’t help his cause to have his prison sentence reduced when Black criticised two of the three judges hearing his appeal in an email he sent to the Globe and Mail. In that email he said that the judges didn’t understand the case and that they sometimes acted like they were part of the prosecution.
If ever Black had a chance of having his sentenced reduced, the arrogant idiot blew it big time when he fired off that email. Those two judges were in a position to help Black win a sentence reduction, and he went out of his way to public criticize them. What a fool. The judges should have increased his sentence just for being stupid.
