Mahmoud Mohammad Issa Mohammad: He Should Be Deported Now, Not Later Today, Tomorrow, Next Week Or After His Next Appeal

August 8th, 20082 Comments

If the Canadian government is serious about the war on terrorism, why is it that 20 years after he was ordered deported from Canada, convicted terrorist Mahmoud Mohammad Issa Mohammad is still living with his family in Brantford, Ontario? What is the hold up in kicking his murderous ass out of the country?

Mohammad, who claims he is a freedom fighter and that the media has falsely portrayed him as a terrorist, made international headlines 40 years ago after he and an accomplice attacked an Israeli commercial airliner in Athens, Greece and killed one passenger before destroying the plane in an escape bid that failed. Nineteen years later, he gained entry into Canada by lying about his terrorist past, and after Canadian authorities learned about his past, he was ordered deported. Since that time, Mohammad has launched appeal after appeal at the expense of Canadian taxpayers, and yet he remains on Canadian soil.

Is it any wonder that terrorists see Canada as a safe haven when the Canadian government does not take deportation orders seriously? The way I see it, when a deportation order is handed down, then the feds should remove the deportee from the country within 48 hours and if the deportee wishes to appeal their deportation order, they can do it from wherever they have been deported to. It isn’t rocket science and the federal government should show some balls when it comes to following through with deportation orders, especially when it comes to people who are convicted of terrorism crimes and then lie about their past or enter into the country with false documents.

This case is bullshit and highlights just how seriously the federal government, whether it is the Conservatives or Liberals in power, takes the war on terrorism and protecting Canadians from threats of terrorist attacks on Canadian soil.

I would like to know the “real reason” why the Liberals didn’t kick him out of the country during the last 13 years they held power. I want to know why the Conservative government hasn’t removed either, and why the previous Conservative government under Mulroney didn’t remove him.

There is more to this guy’s story than just appeals. Twenty years of appeals, seriously?

Naw, there is more to this story. An investigation should be held into the handling of this particular case.
