Crooked in Canada

The National Parole of Canada has kept 35-year-old habitual violent sex offender Michael Andrew Scott for the past 12 1/2 years, but last Wednesday there was nothing they could do to keep him from being released onto the streets of Calgary despite predicting in 2007 at his parole hearing that Scott will commit an offence causing the death or serious harm to another person.

Since the NPB that prediction, Scott is now free to walk the streets of Calgary where a gun-toting woman would be Scott’s next prey. He will be residing either in a John Howard Society facility, or at the Alberta Seventh Step Society, where as far as I am concerned supervision is lax in both places. Scott may have rules to follow in those facilities, but other than a curfew (which is often violated by recently released federal inmates), he is pretty much free to come and go as he pleases.

There is also nothing preventing Scott from absconding from such a facility (counsellors are the first and only line of security) at his leisure, and going to go ground where he will be able to seek out his prey unnoticed.

I really hope Scott’s next victim is one of those gun-toting women I mentioned in Crooked in Canada and that she does Calgary a favour by defending herself with a bullet between Scott’s eyes.

Calgary police have issued a public warning out of the fear that he is likely to re-offend.

By the way, you might be questioning why Scott was released in Calgary in the first place and rightfully so. The only reasons I can think of him for being relocated to Calgary is because Scott asked to be relocated there out fear if he was returned to the city he committed crimes somebody would do him in there. Scott may be gone, but he hasn’t been forgotten in Edmonton. The only reason he asked to be re-located to Calgary is so that he can go about his day-to-day routines (which will include seeking out his next victim) relatively unnoticed. I bet he already has his next victim within his sights, that he is plotting how to kidnap, rape and murder her while you are reading this blog article.
