Western Media Fooled By Tamils Tales Of Woe, But Not CG-Time To Tell The Other Side Of The Story

September 7th, 20082 Comments

Preamble: I don’t know how many people have bookmarked Crooked in Canada, but those who have know that I tend to be controversial and provocative, that more often than not I prefer to be irreverent and blunt. It isn’t always pretty, and sometimes it borders on the nonsensical, but that’s the whole idea behind Crooked in Canada. The way I see it, if you don’t like what you read when you visit this page, nobody is holding a gun to your head telling you that you have to come back to this page.

Message for the Tamil Canadians, especially those who had something to say about the article “I Am Really Getting Sick of the Tamils in Canada, Tamils Angry To See Group on Terror List” in Facebook.

If you have something to say me about what I wrote on June 19/08, leave a comment, express your opinion, and share it with others. Don’t wander off to a social networking site like Facebook to hideout and brainstorm and plot about how you are going to deal with my attitude. In other words, if you want to take me on because I think the western media is sympathetic to your cause, that you constantly paint yourselves as the victims simply because you are a minority in Sri Lanka that doesn’t always gets its way, and that you resort to violence to voice your displeasure at not getting your way, or if you just want to take me on because I think you’re so full of shit your eyes are brown, then have the balls to do in here. Present a compelling argument to me as to how hard done by “your people” are in Sri Lanka. Word to the wise however, I won’t quite as easy to fool as the Western media and the Liberal Party of Canada, or immigration, but I will give you a platform to make your argument, state your case.

That said, I have ruffled a few Canadian Tamil feathers on Facebook, and while I don’t give a shit about what they think, the least they could have done was shown some backbone and posted what they had to say about a blog entry I wrote regarding the Tamil community in the comment section, but they didn’t, choosing instead to hide in one of the 500 or so Tamil groups on Facebook to plot on “how they were going to take me down, shut me up.”

Because those Canadian Tamils didn’t have the balls to voice their opinion here after I published the aforementioned article in Crooked in Canada, I will provide them with many more opportunities to do so in the future, as I have decided to tell the Sinhalese side of a story the Canadian media doesn’t tell.

It’s time Canadians heard another side of the story, a side that neither the Tamil organizations in Canada or the Liberal Party of Canada doesn’t want Canadians to hear because it might embarrass them, make them look stupid, even corrupt. The Liberal Party of Canada may no longer be as supportive of the Tamil community as they once were, but by the time I finish telling the Sinhalese side of the story, Canadians will be asking themselves why the Liberal Party jumped into bed with the Tamils in the first place.

There is an element in the Tamil community in Canada that sees violence as a means to an end in Sri Lanka. That element has had limited responsibility (if only because Canadian laws prevent them from having more in-depth involvement and they risk jail or deportation if they are found out, arrested, charged and convicted) for some of the events that have occurred in Sri Lanka over the years, and while they may not have pulled the trigger or beheaded Sinhalese, Moors, Malays and Tamils, or carried out bombings, and political assassinations, CG is of the opinion that those rogue and hidden subversives who now call Canada home condone such actions, and that they give financial aid to those people (like the LTTE for example) who have taken up arms against the governments, and slaughter thousands of innocent people.

Before I go any further let me make it perfectly clear that I am not targeting all Tamils in Canada with one brush, just those f**king morons who think Canadians like myself are stupid and naïve.

Make no mistake about it however, I am not f**king around when I say there are Tamils in Canada who mean to cause others harm in Sri Lanka, and it those Tamils who need to be exposed. It’s up to Canadian authorities to find out who those people are, and make them accountable. I don’t care what happens to them, just as long as they are not walking freely in the streets of Canada, and they are not conducting or planning acts of terrorism in Sri Lanka from the comfort of their Canadian home.

Stephen Harper’s government labeled the World Tamil Movement a terrorist organization.

That said, this is Canada and it belongs to “real Canadians”, not the Tamils (the subversive ones anyway) who disagree and are offended that the Conservative had the good sense to label the World Tamil Movement a terrorist organization.

It is my intention to expose the lies that some Tamils have been telling to garner sympathy from the Western World, and over the next little while and at my own pace, I will share everything I learn about the “Tamil Cause” here in Crooked in Canada. Trust me, it’s a side that is rarely, if at all told.

Characterizing all Tamils as LTTE terrorists?

Only a small percentage of Tamils showed up to those red flag waving rallies. The vast majority are law abiding and avoid the Tamil Tigers LTTE. We are not all Black July http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_July Tamils either.

Terrorism doesn’t just blow up buildings; it blasts every other issue off the political map. The spectre of terrorism – real and exaggerated – has become a shield of impunity, protecting governments around the world from scrutiny for their human rights abuses.
