Lying Immigrants in Canada: Josip Budimcic and Laibar Singh

October 27th, 20084 Comments

I am not by any stretch of the imagination somebody who isn’t immigrant friendly, after all I am one myself having applied for permanent residency in Australia.

I am currently in the second and final phase of my application and by March 2009 I will either be granted my permanent residency status or I will be deported back to Canada, whether I am married to an Australian or not.

By the way, I didn’t have to lie to gain entry into Australia, nor did I have to deliberately go out of my way to lie or omit anything that might not look good on permanent residency application, unlike Josip Budimcic and that wheel-chaired bound Punjabi fellow who has been holed up in a church in British Columbia for almost two years to keep Canadian authorities from carrying out his deportation order. He has since decided that he wants to return to India because he misses his children. We’ll see how soon he rolls himself out of that temple.

I also don’t have anything to hide either, not even a criminal past, which on my criminal record shows that I was once convicted of common assault, but that was 16 years ago. In case anybody is wondering, yes Australia’s immigration authorities are aware of that because I told them when I filled out that little card the stewardess gave me before I landed in Sydney.

About that assault conviction, I punched a 15-year-old punk in the shoulder for threatening to get a gun and shoot my common-law-wife. That kid was a guest in our home, placed into our custody by the courts and social services, and he got what he deserved. If I had to do it all over again I would, but I wouldn’t plead guilty to spare the kid the trauma of having to testify in court and have all his dirty little secrets (and there were a lot of them, mostly due to violent confrontations in our home) exposed. But I digress.

Interesting that until now the thought to return to India because he missed his children so much didn’t don on Laibar Singh until now. I really wonder how much he misses his children, and if he isn’t merely playing a game to toy with they sympathies of others who in their misplaced loyalties have backed up the lying bastard.

The way I see it, if you deliberately lie on your immigration application, or fail to disclose any and all information that immigration authorities ask of you, then you should be deported back to where you came from.

Immigrants who lie to gain entry and residency status in Canada should not at any time be allowed to clog up the courts at the Canadian taxpayer’s expense for something they are solely responsible for in the first place, misleading immigration authorities. Of course in Canada they can drag out deportation proceedings commenced against them for years and years, and most of those cost are picked up by Canadian taxpayers, not to mention other expenses.

They are given far to many chances to avoid being deported after being caught out in a lie, or after being discovered as a war criminal (as in Budimcic’s case) and taxpayers are on the hook for those expenses while immigration lawyers like Dennis McCrea (represents Budimcic) make a shit load of money protecting the rights of undesirables like the war criminal who failed to disclose the full extent of his military service (or should I say paramilitary service?) in his native Croatia where he was sentenced to 15 years in jail for crimes he committed as a policeman during the Slobodan Milosevic era.

Budimcic has been in Canada for 17 years, playing a game with Immigration authorities and local residents of Saltsprings Island in British Columbia to avoid paying for the crimes he committed in Croatia. He was sentenced in absentia in 1991.

At the time of his conviction he was hiding out in Weyburn, Saskatchewan before the people of that community turned their backs on him after learning what they believe to be the truth about him, that he is a war criminal.

Unlike the naive and gullible residents of Saltsprings, the residents of Weyburn didn’t buy into his claims of innocence, and it is for that reason Budimcic fled to Saltsprings.

Since his arrival in Saltsprings Budimcic is being abetted by a bottom-feeder immigration lawyer by the name of Dennis McCrea, a man who is merely defending Budimcic to boost his low-life defending law practice, and who doesn’t care one way or another if Budimcic is a war criminal or not.

McCrea’s mission in this case is to stick it to the Canadian government and make a name for himself while he is doing so. He doesn’t give a flying f**k about his clients pasts just as long as he can make a buck from them and make a bigger name for himself. Like I said, he’s a bottom-feeder.

FYI-McCrea walks around the courtroom with a smirk on his face. and apparently is quite smug when presenting Budimcic’s case. Just ask anybody who was in the courtroom with him, or has intimate knowledge of this case. I did, and while I promised my sources anonymity, I can say that my source is a without a doubt more than a little familiar with the case, and a hell of lot more credible than Josip Budimcic.

Another FYI-the scumbag lawyer had 5 legal secretaries for this case and each and every one of them was instructed not to mention to the media that they worked for him, nor were they to engage in any conversations about the case. If they did they would be fired. I wouldn’t mention this if I didn’t have reliable and credible sources. For now Crooked in Canada readers are just going to have to take me at my word.

That said, Josip Budimcic (somebody you will definitely learn more about in Crooked in Canada in upcoming weeks) and Laibar Singh both of whom either lied to immigration officials to gain entry into Canada, or failed to disclose information that would have undoubtedly affected their claims for refugee status, should not be allowed to remain in Canada, if only because they committed fraudulent acts to apply for such status. Canada should not be giving refuge to anybody who has to lie their way into the country. What is so hard to understand about that?  They shouldn’t even be allowed to appeal deportation orders.

If an immigrant lies to enter Canada, then he or should be put on a plane out of the country the moment that lie is uncovered.

In Budimcic’s case he should have been deported the moment Canadian authorities learned he was convicted of war crimes in the country he fled, never mind the fact that he deliberately and cunningly failed to disclose the truth about his military service to authorities at the Canadian Embassy in Belgrade.

As for Singh, he should have been forcibly removed from the Sikh temple by Canadian authorities the moment they learned he was in the temple, and the argument that the temple is and should be treated as a safe sanctuary is bullshit.

It was Singh who deliberately went out of his way to circumvent immigration law by taking refuge in the temple in the first place. Had he been a wanted felon, accused of a violent crime or even a white collar crime, Sikhs would have had no problem turning him over to authorities. He deliberately went out of his way to lie to immigration authorities, and then he deliberately went out of his way to avoid the consequences of his fraudulent act by taking refuge in a Sikh temple.

F**k him! Go in and get him, and arrest anybody who is helping to harbor the fugitive.

Who do immigrants think they are when they deliberately go out of their way to impede the laws that ALL CANADIANS are expected to uphold and obey. Disgusting behaviour from those who should be forced to integrate and assimilate into the Canadian way life, a way of life I might add is much better than they life they had in their native country. Arrogant f**ks.

As for Singh being a quadriplegic; I don’t care, he wasn’t a quadriplegic when he lied to immigration authorities, and it has no bearing on his deportation. He will be well looked after in India where he will have the support of his family and some of the best doctors in the world. There are no compelling reasons to allow Singh to stay in Canada, not even the fact that he is disabled.

Budimcic and Singh are merely two examples of immigrants who have deliberately presented themselves fraudulently when applying for immigration status in Canada, and there are plenty more people just like them.

For all Canadians know the refugee claimant that may be living down the street from them, working in the same office, factory, restaurant, hospital or playing sports with them could very well be somebody who has committed an atrocious crime in their native country, they just don’t know it yet because that person has lied to immigration authorities and the lie hasn’t been exposed yet.

Josip Budimicic is a Croat who was a member of the local city police force (which happened to be in a town with a Serb majority population, not a Serbian army unit). HE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY MILITARY OPERATIONS.

His only crime was refusing to enlist in the Croatian army to participate in the ethnic cleansing operations the Croats were conducting against the indigenous local Serbian population of Croatia.

His honourable and principled stance is heroic. After his deparature for Canada, the Croats ethnically cleansed all of Croatia of its indigenous Serbian population.

    CG’s response:

Let me guess Tomislav, you know this to be true because that’s Josip said, right?

He was a member of a local city police force and at first he wasn’t given a uniform or gun. Then he was issued a uniform and a gun and he worked in co-operation with paramilitary forces.

What does his refusal to enlist with the Croatian army have to do with being a part of the paramilitary, or his good character anyway, or the fact that he fraudulently entered Canada?

He’s going back to Croatia buddy, just like that Nazi war criminal whose appeal was denied in Canada yesterday. Josip Budimcic was found guilty of war crimes and it isn’t up to Canada to prove otherwise.

He lied to get into this country because he had something to hide. That something is the truth.

Funny he sees 12 men at the side of the road on their knees, hands on their heads and uniformed armed men standing guard over them. These uniformed armed men are his allies, he said as much in court. He walks up to the armed men to see what is going on. He was unarmed and not in his recently issued police uniform. He strikes up a conversation with the armed men, asking if there is anything he can do for them or what is going on. He gets back in the car with his mate and off they go on a holiday and Budimcic never gives a second thought to the 12 men until he is busted in Canada.

Those 12 men are then shot and buried, oh and if memory serves me well there is some videotaped footage of that incident floating around. In fact there is likely quite a lot of videotaped footage and I bet there is footage of Budimcic being more than a little friendly with those “soldiers” who executed those 12 men.

Now what were you saying about Budimcic being honourable and principled again? An honourable and principled person not only would have expressed some concern about the wellbeing of those 12 men and said something about his experience to somebody, but an honourable and principled man wouldn’t have deliberately gone out of his way to withhold pertinent information to his gaining refugee status in Canada. If he was such an “honourable and principled” man how come he lied to the B.C. Ferry Authority on his job application (he was fired for that), and how come the people of Weyburn, Saskatchewan ran him out of town?

Honourable and principled man, you have got to be f**king kidding me mate.

Given that you speak so highly of this convicted war criminal, maybe you should organize a going away party for him given he is going back to the corrupt country from whence he came after he has exhausted all his avenues of appeal.

Just like that Nazi that lost his bid to stave off deportation the other day, Budimcic’s days are numbered in Canada.

One other thing, what do you get when a Croatian man and Serbian woman (she’s a lawyer by the way) marry? A couple who is shunned by the Croatian and Serbian community. Josip Budimcic didn’t give a f**k about Croats or Serbs because they treated him like sh*t because he married a Serb. He would have had no problem attacking Serbs or Croats.

YOU’RE BACKING THE WRONG HORSE MATE!
