When I was employed by the Alberta Seventh Society in Calgary, I met a soldier who was convicted of impaired driving causing death, and you know what the less than rational (thanks to consumed alcohol) individual’s sentence was for causing the death of one of his passenger in the car they were travelling in was, well let me put to you this way, it was a hell of lot longer than the sentence Stephan Gaetan Lee received for stabbing a man who was sound asleep a total of 28 times, thus causing his death. He received far more than 3 years that’s for sure.
Does anybody besides me see something wrong with that picture? Really, anybody?
It isn’t Lee’s fault that he has been released from the confines of the mental institution where he has been confined for a grand total of not more than three years for what was original first-degree murder, it is the fault of that moron Justice Peter Martin, who for whatever reason thought it was more important that justice serve Lee instead of his victim’s family. What a f**king joke of judge he is.
If anybody isn’t rational, and is a candidate for being locked up in a mental institution, Judge Peter Martin is a prime candidate to be locked up in a round rubber room, but not before a review of the first-degree murder case he presided over is conducted. In my opinion no stone should be left unturned, and Judge Martin should be held accountable for what I would call his ineptness and stupidity, not to mention his obvious lack of good judgment.
For any judge to say that Lee isn’t criminally responsible for his actions because he isn’t or wasn’t of sound mind at the time of the brutal killing, despite evidence that states Lee tricked security into letting him into his sleeping victim’s room so that he could kill what Lee perceived as a threat to him, a sleeping man, is inane, nonsensical, and I doubt too many people who have read something about this case would disagree with me. Like I said yesterday, he was rational enough to plan the murder, therefore he was rational enough to be held criminally responsible.
Lee knew what he was doing, just like he knew what he was doing when he tricked the psychiatrists into believing that he was a f**ked up individual.
Does anybody have any idea how many people are living in Lee’s neighbourhood?
Imagine if one of those neighbour’s looked at Lee the wrong way, or got into an argument with him, and Lee was no longer on his medication. Anybody think that he wouldn’t do to them what he did Tavares?
Stephan Lee, if the psychiatric assessment Judge Martin considered when sentencing Lee is anything to go by, is a ticking time-bomb, even more so if he decides he no longer wants to take his meds. We could be talking about mass murder here people.
Justice Peter Martin really, really f**ked up as far as Crooked in Canada is concerned, and in a show of support for Steven Tavare’s family I am asking all rational citizens of Alberta and the rest of Canada to email their local MPs, the Alberta Attorney General’s office, and the federal justice minister to express their disgust with the outcome of this case, which in the end was an appalling miscarriage of justice.
There is something terrible wrong with this case and the way justice was delivered, and it doesn’t take an esteemed member of The Law Society of Upper Canada to figure out that something went terribly wrong in Judge Martin’s courtroom.
Support the Tavares family by expressing your disgust with the justice system in Canada. Send emails to your local MPs and MPPs, in particular that ministry in charge of our justice system. Tell them what you truly think of our justice system and the moronic and inept judges who work in that system, supposedly in the best interest of Canadians. Let the know how much you think they suck, especially the Liberal ones.

Justice was delivered on behalf of Stephan Gaetan Lee instead of on behalf of Tavares and his family. I know it, Judge Martin knows, the Tavares family knows it, and so do many, many families of murder victims who saw justice served in favour of the killer.
This kind of bullshit has to stop, and Canadians have a loud enough voice to do something about it. Now might be a good time to start.

I’m Dan Tavares. Steven’s brother. I sat in that court room as doctors said Lee couldn’t be cured and would always be a threat. Now the doctors on the review board say he’s well enough to walk the streets…. huh? Somebody’s got to be wrong. Either the justice system or the review board has been fooled. For me one of the most frustrating things is that the review board has yet to respond to media questions on its decision. I already feel there’s been no justice. Is there no accountability either?

I think the justice system was fooled by the the three psychiatrists that assessed Lee, and that Lee fooled them.
Their actions make we wonder just how many other threats to the community they have allowed to return to the streets.
I also have to wonder how many more morons who are supposed to be doing work in the name justice are sitting and testifying in the courtrooms of Canada.
One thing I have learned from this story is that Justice Peter Martin and the three psychiatrists that examined and assessed Lee are as a big of threat to the community as Lee.

Perhaps all the people have responded should anty up to the truth and get their facts straight. Is there any one that has a clue about mental illness? It is so sad that in 2009, people remain ignorant, and continue to make false blanket statements!

Amazed – are you seriously supporting what has happened here? Have you thought of putting yourself in the family’s shoes? I don’t think the issue here is about mental illness, it is the fact that this guy is walking amongst us after so little time for “treatment.” Does public safety not concern you? So what happens if this shithead does the same thing again. He’ll get another shot at treatment and they will release him again after another 3 years. Where is the proof that he is cured? We’re just supposed to cross our fingers and make sure he takes his medications? Who knows if he even wants to get better?
Anyway – maybe you should give an example of the “false blanket statements” that have been made here. And please explain them to us since you seem just as qualified as the psyciatrists that treated this nut.

Fact is… this asshole killed someone, mental illness or not, he should be locked up for the rest of his life, hospital, prison… whereever! He shouldn’t be able to walk around free, Steve can’t, why should he get too. My heart goes out to Steve’s friends & family at this time.
