This blog post is being published at the risk of offending “Kristy” who is yet to convince me that her age discrimination complaint against John Sit isn’t mostly about the money she could be awarded if she wins her complaint.
Why I still feel the way I do about Kimberlee Ourwoulis motivation is provided in the following statement Kimberlee included in one of her emails, and I quote:
From email I received from Kimberlee on November 27:
I want to make some money who the hell doesn’t but my motiviation for human rights was not purely money; it was abit of everything; including a number of people with individual details to their own cases etc., so it’s like if the media wanted to cover my story at tribunal and I didn’t want them too…I can request a press ban; at one time the human rights lawyer told me that they were going to assign me a press agent co-ordinator to ‘handle’ me.
For the past couple of days I have been exchanging emails with 44-year-old stripper Kimberlee Ourwoulis, a woman who is claiming she was fired by John Sit, owner of the strip club The New Locomotion.
We began exchanging emails when I decided that the comments she was leaving in articles that I published about her Crooked in Canada. I don’t know, call me stupid, but I actually thought at the time that I wouldn’t hear much from her. Boy was I f**king wrong about that.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy exchanging emails with Kimberlee, in fact she even sent me a photograph of her in black thong bikini and running shoes and has offered me more (an offer that I have since have declined).
Kimberlee has made it clear to me that what I wrote about her story in Crooked in Canada has hurt her, in fact she claims I was very mean, the meanest on the Internet, in the way in which I depicted here. In fact she blames me in her emails for the tears she cries at night, and the rift she is having with her boyfriend at the moment, a man she describes as her fiance and who was present in her apartment when CBC first interviewed for the piece they did on her. By the way, the boyfriend sounds like quite a character, and he isn’t exactly somebody you would want to rub the wrong the way. I’d like to tell you more about him, as Kimberlee describes him anyway, and that day will come, either by way of comment Kimberlee leaves at Crooked in Canada, or in a future blog post I publish. For now he will remain anonymous.
Kimberlee is entitled to her own opinion when it comes to what she considers mean, as I am entitled to my opinion when it comes to her motivation behind her human rights complaint, but man if she thinks the shit I write about her is meaner than the shit I have read others write about her online, then I like to hear what she considers tame.
Compared to the nasty shit I have read about her, and then of course there is the mocking and belittling way (in my opinion anyway) another blogger (the Mayor) treated Kimberlee in his blog “Mitchieville”, in which the blogger provided Kimberlee with a bunch of questions to answer. He of course edited her answers, mostly spelling and grammatical errors I am assuming, but the blogger did do a good job of mocking and belittling Kimberlee in a subtle kind of way.
Kimberlee’s problem with me is that I have questioned her credibility, and her motivation, both of which come into question in the emails she has sent me. I don’t know whether to believe her or not.
She has shared quite about herself (her life) with me, including her first marriage to a guy she claims was a drug lord, one Mike McDougall, a man she says she lived a ‘jet-setting’ kind of life with, luxurious and fanciful life that included expensive holidays, jewelry, drug dealing, and if I am to take her at word, a few celebrities here and there.
She is no longer with that McDougall fellow, and she hasn’t had any contact with him for a few years now (so she says), but she has provided me with a little bit of insight into what kind of person he is, and the lifestyle she had with him, and if what she has told me is true, the lifestyle she lived (the risks from drug dealing aside of course) would definitely be the envy of many, including some of the highest paid exotic dancers on the planet. Of course I have no way of knowing if what Kimberlee is telling me is true or not. I only have her word to go by, and for now I will give her the benefit of any doubt I may have as to her crediblity.
I cannot make it any more clearer than this, Kimberlee has been extremely fortright with me in her emails and while I might be questioning her motivation as to why she would share such intimate details of her life with me, even alluding to her sex-life with her ‘fiance’, I cannot say for sure whether she is ‘yanking my chain’ or if she is the ‘real deal’ so to speak.
Last but certainly not least, what Kimberlee has told me about her life past and present makes for a very good story, and had the information Kimberlee has shared with me to date had been shared with the media when her story first broke, I am of the opinion that Kimberlee would have been well on her way to fame and fortune by now. Somebody would have exploited Kimberlee’s story, much like I am doing in Crooked in Canada, and they would have paid Kimberlee a lot of money, something that I cannot afford to do, nor likely would be willing to do if I could afford to do so.
Having said that, Kimberlee has told me in one of her emails that the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal offered her a PR agent when they agreed to take her case. I now find myself asking. “Why would the OHRT think Kimberlee needed press agent co-ordinator to hande her (as Kimberlee says they put it), and did they agree to take her case because they knew that there was a lot of good publicity to be generated for them on the back of Kimberlee’s case?”
Call me stupid and naive, but I always thought it was what human rights organizations like the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal could do for others, not what it could for themselves. I’m beginning to question the OHRT motivation for taking Kimberlee’s case.
One more thing, Kimberlee is of the mistaken belief that I wish that information we have exchanged in our emails remain confidential, but that is in fact not the case. It is Kimberlee who wishes that the content of ‘her’ emails to me remain confidential. I could care less about the content in the emails I sent her, and in fact am prepared to share the contents of the emails I sent her in future Crooked in Canada posts where Kimberlee is the topic of conversation.
An aside before wrapping up this blog entry: Over the past few days I have been communicating with Kimberlee Ouwroulis regarding some of the things I have published in Crooked in Canada regarding her case. While I have been putting my own spin on that case, suggesting that perhaps her age discrimination suit was a money grab, and perhaps could have been a deliberate plan after she learned of another stripper’s firing, that she may have even been looking to get even with her former boss, John Sit, I am now willing to give her the benefit of the doubt for the time being and let her tell her side of the story here in Crooked in Canada, if after reading today’s blog entry she is still interested in doing so.
