Public Service Announcement: Win a Date with Michael Ignatieff this Summer

June 29th, 2009No Comments

Woohoo, now the Liberals are thinking, and two lucky Canadians have a chance to win a sit down with the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, but only if they join the Liberal Party. It’s kind of like a lottery, but without the money, sort of. The LPC will cash in because it cost a minimum $10.00 to join the party. I really doubt they will fill their coffers though.

Novel idea though, and this revenue raising event could open the door to bake sales and carnivals.

Who knows maybe somebody will be lucky enough to win a spot on an election ballot. Desperate times call for desperate measures and this year the LPC is more than just a little desperate.

I just can’t see anybody being motivated enough to spend ten, twenty, thirty, fourty or fifty dollars for an opportunity to share their views with Michael Ignatieff, and does anybody really think the Liberal leader really cares what the lucky winners will have to say to him.

I really doubt it, I mean come on now, and we’re talking about somebody who by all appearances marches to the beat of his own drum. He is too up himself to care what the average joe and jane have to say.

Joining the Liberal Party of Canada to win a private meeting with Ignatieff is about as enticing as winning a raffle to be Liberal MP Ruby Dhalla’s housekeeper.  Wouldn’t that be sweet for somebody in her riding?

And for those of you who are wondering if they accept MasterCard or Visa, they do.

I doubt this fundraising campaign is going to make them much money, but kudos to whoever came up with this idea. Looking forward to hearing more about other fundraising campaigns and good luck to all who enter this contest.
