Today I read in the National Post that convicted sex offender Farid Noedost will be allowed to stay in Canada because there are fears for his life if he is deported to Iran. Something about the fears for his life outweighing fears that he might commit another crime of violence in Canada a contributing factor in the Immigration and Refugee Board’s decision to let him stay in Canada.
He is just one man, a man who was welcomed into Canada with open arms, and yet the Canadian public’s safety is trumped by concerns for his own safety.
I’m talking about a guy who was sentenced to three years in prison for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking (imagine the affect his cocaine dealing had on families) back in 2007, and a guy who was given a three-year suspended sentenced and probation in just last year after he was convicted of sexual-assault.
Oh and then there’s the two other sex-assault charges that were stayed.
Seriously now, does anybody think we should give a shit what happens to Noedost if he is sent back to Iran, because he obviously didn’t give a shit about his assault victims, and the families of the drug addicts he was selling his product to? No way man, this guy should have his sorry ass booted out of the country, and eff his well-being in Iran, where if he committed such crimes he would have been executed or locked up for the rest of his life, the former being the most likely scenario to play out.
This man should not be allowed to stay in Canada to live out the rest of his miserable life, some of which will be undoubtedly paid for by the Canadian taxpayer.
The way I see it, a leopard doesn’t change its spots, and there is little doubt in my mind that Noedost will break Canada’s criminal laws again.
Send the bastard back to Iran, and whatever happens to him there, who cares. Of course, that isn’t going to happen and somewhere in Canada a lives his next potential victim.
