Crooked in Canada

While the mayor of Ottawa, Canada is up on charges of influence peddling, there is a rotation of acting mayors to fill the role of Larry O’Brien during his trial.

One of those “acting mayors” is Doug Thompson, a man I know nothing about, and who for whatever reason has decided to rain on former Playboy Playmate Shannon Tweed’s parade next week during the Ottawa Bluesfest, an event where her husband’s band Kiss is playing. His reason, “because he doesn’t think that during the several years Tweed lived in Ottawa she made any significant contributions to Ottawa.”

I think that’s a pretty lame excuse really, and to say that she means nothing to the city of Ottawa, well that’s rubbing a little salt in the wound too.

I suspect that there is going to be a few upset people in Ottawa about that, mostly diehard Playboy subscribers, but at the end of the day I don’t really think Tweed gives a “flying you know what” about what acting mayor Thompson thinks about her.

I also think that the reason behind Thompson cancelling Shannon Tweed Day goes a little bit deeper than what he is saying publicly. Maybe she didn’t put out for him if you know what I mean, or, maybe she turned him down for a date. I think there is more to this story than what Thompson is saying, but oh well it isn’t my problem.

I wonder what Gene Simmons’ thoughts are on this. I bet he isn’t too happy about it.

Say, did you know that in 1977 Tweed was crowned Miss Ottawa Valley, and then went on to finish fourth at the Miss Canada Pageant?

I don’t know what everybody else thinks about that little piece of trivia, but being crowned Miss Ottawa Valley comes with responsibilities, some of which include contributing to Ottawa by you know, making personal appearances at fundraisers, blah, blah, blah.

Acting mayor Doug Thompson is full of shit if he thinks that during Tweed’s reign as Miss Ottawa Valley, she didn’t contribute to Ottawa in a significant or ANY OTHER WAY.  What an asshole.
