So how many months has it been now since wannabe journalist Beverly Giesbrecht, the converted extremist Muslim lover who was kidnapped by her Taliban brethren, quite a few now, right? Do Google search if you are not familiar with this whack job’s story.
The reason I ask is because this story of a terrorist sympathizer has fallen flat in Canada, and not even attempt by me to get information about this so-called kidnap victim from Canada’s foreign ministry has seen anything come my way.
All I asked them was is if they had any news they would like to share with the rest of Canada about the case, but I didn’t get a reply, not even a ‘no comment’.
I guess that no response could be interpreted as, “Sorry mate, we don’t know shit or if the kidnapping is even real.” I wouldn’t be surprised if foreign affairs weren’t on this case anymore.
I mean come on now; from the moment the story broke, it sounded kind of fishy, like Giesbrecht was running a scam to raise money for whoever it was she was hanging out with in the tribal regions of Pakistan.
By the way, if she was kidnapped and then beheaded because of Canada’s failure to pay a ransom for her release. Aah well, I believe she is the maker of her own fate and that it sucks to be her if somebody separated her head from her shoulders, though figuratively speaking, that happened when she hooked up with the Taliban in Pakistan
She gets no sympathy from Crooked in Canada for whatever fate has befallen her.
Hey, for all we know, she has managed to find her way back into Canada under the radar, and maybe with the help of CSIS and the CIA, the latter apparently at one time having great interest in the goings on of Giesbrecht, founder of the jihad friendly web site Jihad Unspun.
Oh well.
Speaking of captive journalist, there is good news for the family of Maziar Bahari, a Canadian journalist (Newsweek) who was taken into custody by Iranian authorities, something about him being a spy.
WTF man, the Iranians are always saying that about western journalists who ‘stir the pot’ in that country, aren’t they? I guess it’s the only viable excuse they can use for the Revolutionary Guard to swoop down on them and take them off the streets. Of course, nine times out of ten, there is no merit to the ‘spy story’ the Iranians concoct to take journalists like Bahari into custody.
The good news is that he has been freed, but with good news comes bad news, and the bad news is coming from Liberal MP Dan McTeague (Pickering-Scarborough East). He is raining on his family’s parade a bit, saying, “I doubt the media reports of Bahari’s release are accurate.”
He might be right about that, but even he can’t say for sure, given that the last people the media is going to contact in Canada about what is going on with Canadians being held in Iran, is the Liberal Party of Canada. I’m thinking McTeague overestimates his party’s worth when it comes to the media and who they spread good news with first.
Lawrence Cannon, Canada’s real foreign minister, and somebody who would learn of Bahari’s fate before anybody in the Liberal Party would, is treating cautiously, the report that Bahari has been released. Unlike McTeague, Lawrence Cannon isn’t implying that he doesn’t trust the media on this one.
As far as anybody knows, it was an Iranian news agency that released the story about Bahari’s release, and that some media outlets and a Facebook site dedicated to his release picked up on it right way.
Let’s hope for the sake of the Bahari family, the report of his release is accurate, which in my favor, confirms what I have been saying all along, that Liberals like McTeague should sometimes just shut the f*** up, because sometimes what comes out of their mouths doesn’t do them any favors when it comes to Canadian voters.
Imagine how bad it would be for the Liberal Party if everybody in their ranks shot down ‘feel good stories’ for family’s in distress by implying that such stories were bullshit.
That’s pretty much what McTeague was saying about Bahari’s release from an Iranian jail, wasn’t it? He basically was saying that the Iranian media, which is run by the state, was lying, wasn’t he?
Yeah, the Iranian government is going to want diplomatic relations with the Liberals if they ever regain the power they lost, right?
Having said that…
Bahari is a legitimate journalist. Giesbrecht is not.
Maybe that’s why ‘her story’ has fallen flat in Canada. I wonder if MP McTeague has any insight on what is going on in that international incident.
You know what, the whole Giesbrecht story is a scam in my opinion, and I think media outlets figured that out a long time ago.
Score another Point for Australia in the War on Terrorism
I have been living in Australia for more than 5 years now, and you know what, Australia is doing a fantastic job of shutting down terrorist threats here in The Land Down Under.
Canada, well the Canadian people anyway, could learn a thing or two when it comes to how the authorities here tackle threats to national security.
Yeppers, not much support for the rights of terrorists here when the are busted, locked up and interrogated, and that is the way it should be, right Mr. Prime Minister?
The other day 5 men, all of whom are of Muslim descent, were found guilty of terrorism charges by a jury, and you know what I think, I think they should be put to death instead of being locked up for what could be the rest of their life.
Yeah, put a bullet in them a dawn’s next light, that’s what I say, and kill those bastards who performed for the TV cameras outside the courthouse too, after the guilty verdict against there terrorist friends came down.
I don’t have a problem with executing those who support terrorists, and if people are stupid enough to publicly support terrorist, especially the convicted kind, then yeah, line them up at the wall and bring in the firing squad.
HEY MY FELLOW CANADIANS, THE ONES WHO PUT ‘RIGHTS’ AHEAD OF NATIONAL SECURITY, DON’T YOU THINK ITS TIME YOU LET ANTI-TERRORISM LAWS DO WHAT THEY ARE INTENDED TO DO, INSTEAD OF LOOKING OUT FOR THE BEST INTERESTS OF TERRORIST THREATS?
