So What If Ruby Dhalla Treated Her Maid In This Manner

Thinking of Liberal MP Ruby Dhalla

October 26th, 20092 Comments

I came across a little blurb today about an Indonesian couple being arrested for beating the shit out their maid, and then tying her up and locking her in the bathroom for two nights, and you know what, the first thing that popped into my head was, “Wow, that could be Ruby Dhalla pulling that kind of shit.” Absolutely, huh?

Of course there hasn’t been a housekeeper who has come forward yet to allege that Ruby or somebody in the Dhalla clan smacked her around, but I bet there is one lingering in in the “let’s bury a Liberal” pipeline, just waiting to be flushed out by a spiteful politician or an overzealous investigative journalist.

By the way, I’m waiting for Ruby to weigh in on those Tamil asylum seekers that were captured by the Canadian navy off the BC coast last week, though I am surprised she hasn’t said anything about those 76 men yet, one of whom apparently might be a wanted terrorist back in Sri Lanka.

Maybe she already said something and I just didn’t read about it online. You know how it is sometimes. Just so you know, I don’t think in ‘Ruby’s real world’ she has a very high opinion of Tamils. Think about it, they killed Indira Ghandi’s son, and we all know how she feels about the former Indian Prime Minister. No, I doubt Ruby gives a flying f*** about Tamils, but she will pretend she does, you know, for the good of the Liberal Party of Canada, who as we all know, depends on the Tamils for quite a few votes in and around Toronto.

COME ON RUBY BABY, SHARE YOUR FEELINGS ABOUT TAMILS WITH CANADIANS, AND TELL THE TRUTH THIS TIME

So anyway, and not that anybody who reads Crooked in Canada cares, a Malaysian couple has been arrested for the vicious beating they hung on their maid for her unsatisfactory work.

In the mean time Indonesia’s ban on sending domestic workers to Malaysia continues until a deal can be reached on salaries and conditions for the domestics, the point of which is supposed to end the abuse the domestics suffer at the hands of their employers in Malaysia. By the way, the Dhalla family aside, how tough do domestic workers in Canada have it with their employers?  Anybody know, or is that not something that matter?

And just for the hell of it, and again because I think you might want to know, the beaten and bound housekeeper was discovered by a housekeeper that was hired to replace the abused one locked in the bathroom, something about a foul smell emanating from behind the locked bathroom door.

Injuries to ‘the beaten one’ included a swollen eye, an injury so severe to her right leg that the bone was exposed, and numerous bruises all over her body.

You know, I wouldn’t put it past Ruby to do something like that if she became frustrated with one of her domestics, though if she did, there would probably be a cover up.  On the plus side for working for Ruby, a domestic working for her or anybody else in her family for that matter, would earn more than the one-hundred thirty or fourty dollars Indonesian maids pocket for a seven-day workweek.

That might make up for a beating, if of course Ruby would do such a thing to somebody beneath her.

He Confessed, That Is Where Compensation Begins and Ends for Kyle Unger

NO COMPENSATION FOR THIS IDIOT!

Let me start by saying that the investigation into the murder of 16-year-old Brigitte Grenier 20 years ago ended with the conviction of Kyle Unger, that 20 years on, the likelihood of founding the person or persons responsible for the Winnipeg teen’s death is slim and none.

An inquest into the how and why this investigation went wrong though, well that might be something to consider, after all Unger was able to trick investigators, judge and jury into believing that he committed the murder. That is worth looking into.

What isn’t worth looking into is whether Unger should be compensated for his own stupidity. Common sense would dictate that his confession, and no it wasn’t given under duress, would suggest, in fact confirm that Unger was the maker of his own fate, and therefore shouldn’t get any compensation for something he caused to happen in the first place, his wrongful imprisonment.

At best, and I would be reluctant to do this too if I had my hands on the purse strings, Unger should be given a monthly welfare cheque until he gets back on his feet, which I’m pretty sure has all but happened.

How much does anybody want to bet that offers for his story are already ‘in the pipeline’, that somebody is offering him big bucks for the rights to his story?  Yeah, financially he is going to be okay I think, and no he doesn’t deserve one red cent for the 14 years he spent behind bars for a crime he said he committed.

You know what really gets me about this story; is why in the f*** would Unger confess to beating, strangling and sexually mutilating the young concert goer, like what did he expect to gain for it; three squares a day and roof over his head for the rest of his life, or was working on a scam, a scam where he hoped when the truth came out, he would be able to sue somebody for big bucks?

It’s entirely possible that Unger’s confession had more to do with a scheme in which he would be able to cash in big time at later date, right.

I agree with Manitoba Justice Minister Dave Chomiak when he says there will be no compensation for Unger.

Unger was the maker of his own fate and therefore is entitled to nothing but access to the welfare system until he can get back on his feet.

    Canadian Tamil community in crisis

Addictions and alcoholism, depression, family violence, post-traumatic stress disorder and suicides haunt the community as people struggle to cope with death and disappearance of their families back home in Sri Lanka.

CG can you believe it? They are blaming us again. They are in Canada, with the highest quality of life in the West, so many opportunities with the world at their feet, yet they threw it away due to their violent thinking and now blaming Sri Lanka!

I read back in the 90s some Tamil got away with assault and robbery at GTA retailer by saying they were “traumatised” is Sri Lanka. Canadian Police “felt sorry” for them too in some wishy washy court case.

Hey Steve, the problem with the Tamils is that they expect everybody else to fix their problems instead of actually doing it themselves. That’s what dole bludgers do, and there are a lot of Tamil dole bludgers in Canada. Oh well, as long as the Canadian taxpayers are willing to foot the bill for them, right?

I have to wonder how many Tamils are collecting some sort of benefit because the are unable to work because of depression, alcoholism, post traumatic stress disorder, and whatever other reasons a doctor will give them a piece of paper for to keep them out of the workforce.
