Crooked in Canada

After being held hostage in Somalia for the past 15 months, Canadian journalist Amanda Lindhout has been released, and short of plane crash on route to Canada, she should be safe in the arms of her family within days, perhaps even by this time tomorrow depending on how fast she is debriefed.

Having said that, I have to wonder what is up with that Beverly Giesbrecht Islamic sympathizer. She too is apparently “a kidnapped journalist” who last March was supposed to have been beheaded if Canada to ante up a shitload of ransom money for her release.

No word if she is still alive or not, but CG is betting she is, and that as CG has said many times, the Giesbrecht kidnapping thing is/was nothing more than a scam she put together with her jihad loving mates to raise some cash for a terrorist related activity or two in Pakistan.

An Australian journalist who was kidnapped with Ms. Lindhout was also released. Nigel Brennan has spoken to his sister since his release, but has since been told to belt up.

Rumor around Oz is that the families of both captives paid a $1-million ransom.

No I’m not single, not quite anyway, but I will be one day. That’s just the way my life is going at the moment.

Oh well, it sucks to be me, but that’s a story I’ll be telling later on, much later on.

If and when I do become single again, I won’t be needing a list of strategies to bring somebody new into my life either, and no I won’t be using the Internet or a personal ad in the newspaper to find that “hook up”. I have been there, done that, and bought the tee shirt, sort of. I have never used a personal add to meet women, thats what social networking sites and bars are for, right?

The idea is to get things expanding — your mind, your regular routine, your circle of friends. Doing just one thing different will have a very effective ripple effect. Invite someone unusual to lunch, take that knitting class, or try skydiving. Once the ball is rolling, it’ll be hard to stop it — not that you’d want to. The new possibilities are tremendous.

The astrologers at Y! Astrology isn’t exactly bang on. I do need to expand my horizons in friendships, my day-to-day routine, but I’m not so sure about my mind. I can only put so much shit in there, and right now it is kind of overflowing.  I don’t eat lunch, and even if I did I certainly wouldn’t be inviting anybody strange to join me. I don’t knit, but if I was in prison I might. I ain’t going to jump out of plane, but I might jump off a cliff.

New possibilities? There will be as many of them as I create for myself, but like I sort of said, I have way too much on my plate right now. So no, there weren’t be too many new possibilities popping up for me, not yet anyway.
