Asylum Seekers: Merry Christmas Island Brawl

November 24th, 2009No Comments

What do you get when you put a bunch of Afghan and Sri Lankan asylum seekers together on an island just off the coast of Australia?  A huge brawl on Christmas Island, but one that the only damage caused is to one another.

Like WTF man, what were these clowns trying to prove. Like wasn’t one of the reasons they left their homeland because of the violence no longer wish to endure?

Yeah, the 150 detainees armed with tree branches, pool cues and sharpened broomsticks a making a convincing argument as to why they should be given asylum in Australia, aren’t they?

F***ing morons they are on Christmas Island, and criminal charges should be laid in, the aftermath of this riot. There won’t be though, because according to critics of the Kevin Rudd government, he and his Labor government has gone soft on illegal asylum seekers.

I happen to agree with that assessment of the Rudd government by the way, and if PM Kevin 007 doesn’t wake up and smell what is cooking in Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Iraq, you know where there are more terrorists than good cops, his stand on illegal asylum seekers could very well cost him the next federal election. He had better get his shit together soon if he knows what is good for his Labor Party.

Anyway, the brawl was brought under control by a “private security force” and the federal police, and in the end 37 illegal asylum seekers ended up injured, 10 of which ended up in hospital at the Australian taxpayers’ expense. Several other injured were flown to Perth for treatment, again at the Australian taxpayers’ expense.

Here’s what I think should be happen to the brawlers, if nobody is going to face criminal charges for their violent actions on Christmas Island, then at the very least their applications for refugee status should not proceed. They should be sent back to their homeland for their violent actions.

I can’t speak for other Australians, but their actions on Christmas Island, not to mention the fact that they tried to enter Australia illegally in the first place, is proof that they have little regard for Australian laws, and therefore they should be deported without thinking twice about it.

Oh yeah, the brawl broke out over a pool game, and yes PM Rudd is a little disappointed, suggesting that yes indeedy, charges might be laid and asylum refused. I’ll believe it when I see it Kevin 007.

Daily Horoscope for Virgos

You like to keep things the same as much as you possibly can. At the moment, however, that’s just about impossible, especially when it comes to either work or joint financial ventures. Before you get upset about it and lay into whomever you think is responsible for trying to break up your day, give the change a chance. That way, if the end result is better than it would have been without any changes, there won’t be any need for apologies.

Absolutely not true. I don’t want things to stay as they are, at least right now I don’t, and it doesn’t look like much is going to change either. Stuck in a rut, but in due time I will come out of that rut smelling like a rose, but not without taking a few people down with me.  Change or not, the shit is going to hit the fan, and when it does….well like I said, I’ll come out smelling like a rose, and feeling good about myself too.
