Australia Saying Canada Is Taking In Asylum Seekers Aboard Oceanic Viking

November 10th, 20094 Comments

So Canadian taxpayers, how many of you are aware that there is a rumor being floated here in Oz that says the Tamil refugees refusing to disembark from an  Australian Customs ship, will be resettled in Canada, some of them anyway. You hear about that, has the Harper government made any mention of that during press conferences or anything like that.

I was perusing the news on the Internet this morning when I came across this headline, Rapid settlement for Viking refugees, and didn’t think nothing of it until I saw mention of Canada in the summary.  That peaked my curiosity.

Apparently, it will happen within a year.

Hmm, that long huh, and in the mean time how much are these particular refugees going to cost taxpayers in Australia, if and when the Australian government agrees to the terms being set by the refugees in order for all 78 of them to give up their sit-in aboard the Oceanic Viking.

Search for Runaway Getting Expensive

Teenager Mariam Makniashvili has been missing for almost two months now, and police haven’t any clues as to went down with the recent new arrival to Canada, no eyewitnesses to abduction, no nothing. It’s like she vanished off the face of the earth, but CG believes the teenager ran away from home, that her “disappearance” has more to do with what was going on at home than it has to do with anything sinister.

Yeah, I’m thinking she ran away to get away from her father, a man who is known (at least according to Los Angeles police reports) to have a bit of thing for young females after belting back a few alcoholic beverages.

I’m thinking that after being reunited with her mother and father earlier this year, after living with relatives in Georgia for a few years while her parents made a go of it in America, the reunion celebration might have went a little too far for Mariam’s liking, and she booked it after meeting somebody on the Internet.

Anyway…

Toronto police detectives are about to begin some door knocking, something they should have been doing weeks ago, when Mariam was first reported missing. The plan to knock on 6000 doors in northern Toronto, starting today, in the hope of digging up information that will lead them to Mariam, who many think by the way, has hooked up with a cult leader.

Wherever she is, CG hopes she is okay and that if she can, the very least she could do is pick up the phone and let somebody know she is still alive.

Gee, If I Had Known It Was That Easy

Just over 5 years ago, I landed at the airport in Sydney here in Australia. After being checked out by border security officers on two different occasions before being walking out of the airport, I managed to find my way to the Tweed in northern New South Wales, and it is here I have been ever since.

It hasn’t been an easy five years, and I have had to jump through a lot of hoops for immigration for my permanent residency visa, but in the end it is all worth it, and you know what else, I won’t have to do anybody any favors for the privilege of being allowed to live her in The Land Down Under.

No sir, I will not have had to grease anybody’s palms, nor will “the Canadian community” have had to make any political donations to smooth the waters for my visa approval.

Italian immigrant Francesco Madafferi can’t say the same thing though, not after Australian authorities have learned that something a little shonky might have went down with this particular immigrant.

It is being alleged that Madafferi supporters kicked in tens of thousands of dollars in donations to the Liberal Party, and that three Liberal MPs – Bruce Bilson, Russell Broadbent and Marisa Payne jumped on a board a campaign by Madafferi supporters that would allow Madafferi to stay in the country after he was deemed an illegal immigrant, and facing deportation.

Here’s the kicker in his story, Madafferi has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and drug offences, and this after former PM John Howard’s immigration minister, Amanda Vanstone overturned the deportation order Madafferi was under 4 years ago.

She said he could stay in Australia because his deportation would have and effect on his mental state and that of his wife and children.

Humanitarian grounds she said it was and I’m thinking to myself, “So if I were to say that my mental health was going to be adversely affected because I wasn’t being allowed to remain with my wife and stepchildren in Australia, that argument would have worked for me?

Probably not, because I wasn’t making political contributions, or greasing anybody’s palms, and to add insult to injury, I don’t know where the Canadian community is so wouldn’t be able to get the kind of support the Italian community was giving Madafferi.

Nevertheless, here I sit, and here I plan to stay, and without having to make political contributions, and reaching out to the Canadian community and Members of Parliament to do my bidding for me, not that I was ever facing a deportation order after being in the country illegally.

The Australia Federal Police investigation into this immigration matter is ongoing, and at the moment, the AFP isn’t saying much.

Its also something to note that many Tamils from Tamil Nadu say they are from Sri Lanka as well. Reasons for which are no doubt obvious for both of us.

This clown Alex denied these charges with typical Tamil zeal.

Then when the whimpy Australian media confirmed the details with the Canadian Authorities he quickly admitted it (no doubt they -Aus media- coached him). To avoid humiliation if when Canada went public over who the scum ball really is. So in the mean time we once again another heart wrenching story despite this guy being proven a liar time and time again.

Hey Steve, and he was deported from Canada six years ago. Did I call the Canadian connection right or what. I think he lived in Canada for a very long time before he was deported. I just knew there was something about his accent that had “Canada” written all over it.
