There are no celebrations among supporters of Omar Khadr today, now that Eric Holder, America’s U.S. Attorney General has ruled that Omar Khadr, the only Canadian terrorist being held at Guantanamo Bay, is going to answer for the crimes of terrorism he is charged with in front of a military tribunal.
Things are not looking too good for Omar, and with any luck, the Supreme Court of Canada will back the Canadian government on their stand, the one where they (the government) have think they have done more than enough for Omar, who by the way is facing a first-degree murder charge. Then there are those terrorism charges tacked onto to that.
No, life isn’t as good as Allah said it would be for him when he hooked up with the Taliban in Afghanistan to fight along side with them, and yeah, it’s beginning to look like the smiling bomb maker is probably going to go down in the U.S. for the crimes he is of accused of committing.
When that happens, well that’s another story, but who cares, just as long as he goes down for them, right?
The decision to try Omar in front of military commission has devastated and shocked his lawyers and supporters.
Oh well, sucks to be Omar. Sucks to be his supporters. Now if only there was a way we could get rid of the rest of the Khadrs living in Canada. Wouldn’t that be cause for celebration?
Shout out to Triskaidekaphobians: Don’t sweat it people, there’s only a few hours left in this Friday the 13th, so like sit tight, pop a few pills, pound back a few cold ones, and just enjoy what is left of your day.
For those of you who don’t know what triskaidekaphobia is; it’s the fear of the number 13; it’s a superstition and related to the fear of Friday the 13th. So says Wikipedia anyway.
Canada’s Immigration system at work: Two violent immigrants in Alberta have been kicked out of Canada, that’s the story Canada Border Services Agency is telling about Sunwoong Youn (aka Jason Youn) and Muricio Alberto Cardona Orellana, anyway. Youn was deported 7 years after a shootout at Calgary’s Southcentre Mall, and 4 years after he was convicted for a weapons related offence.
Orellana was a drug dealer in Medicine Hat, or something like that anyway, and he has been deported 4 years after being convicted in relation to his drug dealing.
Both men are permanently barred from Canada. LMFWHITEAO, yeah like they aren’t going to be able to find another way into Canada under the radar. That’s just how good Canada’s border security is.

Funny ,the TORONTO STAR has a whole different slant on the American proceedings.One of their articles (in a special section) is titled “U.S opens door for Omar Khadr’s return to Canada!”.The article focuses on the fact that the Supreme Court of Canada has yet to rule on wether or not the Judiciary has the right to interfere in the workings of the State dep’t. The Torstar has taken this little quote by Eric Holder to mean that Khadr WILL BE FREED!!!!!
These so-called journalists have ,once again ,skewed the main story to conform to their beliefs that KHADR is an innocent child soldier captured ,shot and tortured by the Evil Americans (our allies)…The main point of Holder’s press conference was to announce that 5 Guantanamo Jihadists would face criminal trials in New York city (just a few blocks from the Twin towers site-how poetic) and that Khadr ,along with 4 others will face a Military Commission.This of course ,infuriated his newly appointed defense lawyer ,who thought that Omar would face justice in a civilian court where the rules are a lot more lax.
How the Tronto Star manages to twist these facts is a testament to their reporting staff especially Michelle Sheperd- she has even written a book on OMAR “Guantanamo’s Child ” which makes her a little biased on the subject .I cannot believe the lack of journalistic integrity shown by such a major newspaper!
As stated in your blog, Omar is finally going to get his day in court,much to the dismay of his supporters,his terrorist family,his latest legal counsel and any other bleeding heart that supports this terrorist puke!

G’Day flipper,
As far as Michelle Shephard goes; given that she has written a book about the case, I am going to assume that she has good, unfettered access to the Khadr family in Ontario, and that when it suits his lawyers, she has access to them too, probably more than any other journalist. Having said that, I think it is pretty safe to assume that there were pre-conditions to her getting that kind of access, one of which would have been to tell the story she is telling now, and in her book so that it shows that Khadr is being railroaded, and to you know, paint him in a light that draws sympathy. That’s why she is so biased I think.
As for how anybody could misconstrue what Eric Holder said is totally beyond me. Even if you read between the lines, there is no way you could misinterpret what Holder was saying, that Omar was going to face justice, and if after facing justice he can be repatriated, the Americans will look at that. I don’t know, maybe the Americans are open to letting Omar serve out any prison time he is given if he is found guilty, in Canada.
Now about those charges. There is little doubt in my mind that he is going to be found guilty of the terrorism charges he faces, that video of him smiling away while making bombs the most damning piece of evidence against, but I don’t think he is going to do anymore time than he will have done by the time he is found guilty of that charge. As for the first-degree murder charge, that’s a tough one, but I think there might be enough evidence against him to convict him on that too if my gut is right about there being “other witnesses” and heavier evidence against him, the kind of evidence that military prosecutors are keeping close to their vest.
Omar’s supporters are in for a very rude awakening I think when this trial actually starts to move forward, and at the end of the day there is little doubt in my mind that justice will be served. There is nothing his supporters, not even journalists, can do to change what the U.S. has in store for Omar, and there is no way the he is just going to walk out of Guantanamo and into Canada.
What people aren’t understanding (in my opinion anyway) is that whatever the Supreme Court of Canada rules, the federal government, at least until the Liberals get back into office (lol, I crack myself up sometimes), aren’t going to, and don’t have to, do shit for Omar. They can heed the court’s ruling, but at the end of the day they don’t have to do anything more than try to repatriate him, and they don’t have to try hard at it as long as they look like they are trying. Furthermore, its not like the feds can force the U.S. into repatriating Omar if the Supreme Court orders it to do so anyway.
The Supreme Court action, to me anyway, is nothing more than a token gesture, lip service to shut people up about it. Does that make sense?
