The OPP Should Settle and the Brown Family Should Finally Get Out of Dodge

November 21st, 20093 Comments

At the risk of SOUNDING RACIST, native Indians, the Canadian kind that is, think the world owes them a living and that millions and millions of taxpayers should foot the bill for living that disgusting and vile life a lot of them live with a bingo card in one hand and a bottle of booze in the other.

It’s bullshit I tell ya, and I think it’s about time people starting taking their (the natives) a little   more seriously then people have been for the past few decades now. It’s time to take of the kid gloves down and shut down that silly little game natives have been playing with not only their own lives, but the lives of their neighbours and everybody else. Enough already.

Aah-ha, aah-ha, I’m saying that it is time Canadian aboriginals be forced into getting their shit together, but that’s another story for another day.

Today the story is about what the OPP (Ontario Provincial Police for those of you scratching your head wondering what OPP means) doesn’t have when it comes to dealing with rowdy Indians in Caledonia, testicular fortitude.

They OPP have down shit to help the Brown family out with the natives in their backyard, a family I might add, is as stupid as they are right about the police not doing enough to protect them from the Indians from the Six Nations reserve on their doorstep.

For that, and their own stupidity, the Browns are suing the OPP for $7-million, the price tag on the harassment they were forced to endure (yeah right Mr. and Mrs. Brown) just over three years ago when Indian protesters, some of whom know doubt pounded back a few wobbly pops and cans of Lysol before seizing the Douglas Creek Estates on Feb.28/06, inflicted upon them at their home.

Get this, three years on, the Browns still live on that property. You would think that they would have fled the area by now, especially since the natives are likely harassing the Brown family every time a carload of them drives by the Brown home.

Like I said, the Browns are as stupid as they are right about the police not doing enough to protect them from the natives. Oh well, it’s their life, and for the last three years they have subjected themselves to further abuse from the natives. Can’t wait to hear who they blame for that.

Funny isn’t it, the Browns say the cops didn’t do enough to protect them from the harassment back then, and yet for the three years since the harassment began, the Browns have probably subjected to even more harassment by choosing not to vacate their property; move somewhere else. Don’t think they aren’t still putting up with bullshit coming off that reserve.

I’m sure if they win their lawsuit against the OPP though, they will be pulling up stakes just as fast as they can cash their cheque, if they win of course. This brings me to my next point.

It isn’t looking good for the OPP.

You know, if their lawyers are half as smart as the lawyers asking the questions on behalf of the Brown family, a much bigger settlement than the one the OPP have offered in the past should be put on the table tout-de-suite (did I spell that out right my Quebec separatist friends?), because I think the longer this case drags out, the more likely the Browns are going to get their hands on the full $7-million they are asking for, if not more.

Nah, the best I think the OPP can hope for in this case is paying out less than what the Browns are asking, which by the way if it were left up to me to decide, the Browns would be lucky if they got a couple of million. Compensating people for their own stupidity, like get real people.
\
I know, I know, they have a right to remain in their home and nobody should be forced out of their home because of rampaging drunk and belligerent Indians with a chip on their shoulder, but at the end of the day ones own well-being, as well as that of their family, should trump that thought, right?

I do however think the Browns deserve something for the OPP not having the balls to do anything about what the Indians in Caledonia were doing to the Brown family. I just don’t think their failure to arrest anybody, or to protect the Browns, is worth anywhere near the $7-million they are asking for.

Perhaps the Browns simply can’t afford to move?
I know if I was in a similar situation, I’d have a tough time being able to move, especially when the ability to sell the house they’re in is likely next to nothing. Having to forfeit the existing house and finance another isn’t something everyone would be able to afford.
I don’t see it as stupidity, more like being dropped into an untenable situation through no doing of your own, then being abandoned by your government.

Hey uplink. I’m going to have to disagree with you on this one, though not completely. Could the Browns afford to move or not, that’s a tough one given that I’m not aware of their financial circumstances, but I am going to assume that for the past few years now they have managed to keep up with their mortgage payments, put food on the table, gas in the car and repair that which was damaged by residents on the reserve. If that is true, then surely they could afforded to move out, even it meant they had to rent for a while.

Yes I agree, if it was me in their shoes it would be difficult to “get out of dodge” but at the same time I would be able to make a few sacrifices for the safety and betterment of my family. The point I am trying to make is that the Browns could have done a lot more to remedy the situation, and it doesn’t sound to me like they did, but back then maybe the media wasn’t interested in their story. Where there is a will there is a way, right?

Having said that, there is a lot of blame to be spread around, and while I don’t dispute that the Browns should be compensated for the OPP’s lack of action, I don’t think they should be on the hook for the entire $7-million.

Nevertheless, I do expect the Browns will be compensated handsomely, and that when they are they’ll board up this place, maybe rent it out, or something. Then again, maybe any compensation they receive may include a condition where the Browns must give up the deed to that property.

A house that close to the reserve would make an ideal police station, don’t you think? That would piss off the Indians huh?
