The war in Afghanistan will never be won with Hamid Karzai as president. He either goes, or NATO packs it in, that’s what I’m thinking now.
How is this for stupidity in Afghanistan? It seems eighty Taliban militants have laid down their weapons and are keen to join the police force, and get this it’s President Hamid Karzai’s government, you know the one rife with corruption, that is enabling that change of attitude in Taliban men.
Apparently, if they accept an amnesty package aimed at ending the insurgency, they can become cops. Like that is way too funny.
I’m thinking to myself, nothing like making it easier for the Taliban to infiltrate the police force where they will no doubt be able to carry out terrorist attacks with much more ease. Wasn’t within the past couple of weeks where a Taliban insurgent did exactly that, you know, become a cop and then launch an attack on his fellow officers? I’m sure that is what happened. Maybe I dreamt it.
Anyway, what a stupid idea, letting Taliban insurgents join the police force.
I tell you man, with that kind of thinking in the Afghanistan government, NATO might as well get the f*** out of Dodge now, because the Taliban don’t jump into bed with anybody other than those who are on the same page as them when it comes to how the country is governed, and what Sharia laws are enacted and enforced.
President Hamid Karzai you corrupt bastard, Afghanistan is all yours mate, let’s see how long you last when NATO pulls out.
You know what, two weeks ago I was all for NATO troops being in Afghanistan doing the right thing, but not anymore, at least I don’t think I am.
I just don’t see the point of it if all the Afghanistan government is going to do is jump into bed with the Taliban in what is nothing more than a misguided and ill-informed attempt at working out some sort of peace accord with the Taliban, who as the whole world knows by now has taken the “it’s my way or the highway” when it comes to the people of Afghanistan.
In order for NATO to win in Afghanistan, President Karzai has to want to wipe-out the Taliban, annihilate them, but it is obvious that that isn’t the case. I’m thinking that pulling out of Afghanistan and letting the Karzai government fight its own battles, is probably a good idea now.
Why risk our soldiers for a government that is a corrupt and stupid as the Karzai one. CG never thought he would say this, but maybe it’s time to bring our soldiers home from Afghanistan. Let what is going on there be just Karzai and is government’s problem.
