Like how stupid does this Pakistani-born Canadian businessman think we are, and does anybody think that his admitting he is a terrorist is going to help him get the same kind of support that Omar Khadr is getting from some Canadians? Of course not, and Rana’s denial of having any involvement in the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India last year (Nov. 26) is to be expected.
I mean think about it people, the attack he is accused of helping to organize killed 166 people. While terrorists of the al-Qaeda kind wear an attack like that as a badge of honor, and have no qualms admitting their roles in such attacks, this Rana clown doesn’t appear to be that stupid.
I will agree that he was stupid enough to be caught for providing material support in order for a terrorist attack to eventuate, so say the FBI anyway.
Rana is f***ed and going down either way, though I would really like to see him put to death, as should all terrorists and those who provide material, financial and strategic support should be.
That said, the last thing Rana wants is to be extradited to India to suffer the consequences for his actions, if of course the FBI can connect him to the Mumbai bombings; which in this, the war on terrorism era, isn’t going to require much of an effort or irrefutable proof to connect Rana to that particular brutal act of terror.
Look, the bottom line when it comes to Rana is that somewhere and somehow the FBI was able to connect him to terrorism in the first place. That either means he has been known to associate with suspected terrorists, or in the least likely scenario, unwittingly hooked up with suspected terrorists.
Either way, I think the current charges (conspiring with others to blow up a Danish newspaper over Mohammed cartoon) Rana is facing is merely the tip of the iceberg, that in due time and with due diligence, the Americans are going to be able to pin a shit load of terrorism charges on him.
We’ll see what happens Canada, but my gut is telling me that, Tahawwur Rana provides material support for any terrorist organization that presents itself before him with cash in hand. Rana might not be a terrorist per se, but he just might be a purveyor of terrorism, which by the way, is just as bad as being a terrorist. I’m sure his “business acumen” comes in pretty handy for him in that sense, huh.
