Swedish police are investigating WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange after unknown persons levelled allegations of molestation (not limited to children) against him.
Two women have come forward to allege that he turned abusive toward them while they were having consensual sex with him. Details of what it was he did exactly are yet to be released. You can bet WikiLeaks won’t be leaking that information anytime soon.
After the warrant for his arrest was issued, Assange responded via his Twitter page saying that the two charges of rape on that warrant were without basis and that he was deeply disturbed by the allegations he says are without basis. He denies that he raped anybody. The timing of the charges give rise to much speculation, but at the end of the day Assange like myself, reaps what he sows when it comes his website. Smear campaigns, if in fact the rape allegations are the start of one against Assange, come with the territory.
An arrest warrant was issued against Assange this past Friday, and within twenty-four hours, that warrant was revoked. While he isn’t for the moment a wanted rapist, he is definitely a wanted man by many across the globe–especially when it comes to world leaders who have troops in Afghanistan. Canada, the U.S., Australia just three countries whose leaders want to shut the f**ker up once and for all.

Just looking at a photograph of the creep makes the hair on the back of CG’s neck stand up, but I reckon this is either a smear campaign orchestrated by Assange’s enemies–he has a few them in ‘high places’, or the two women are trying to cash in on the current controversy surrounding him.

Those letters by the way, at least as far as CC is concerned, are nothing more than part of plan to fool Canadians into believing that the “asylum seekers” are not what a lot of people who know better believe they are, sympathizers and supporters of an outlawed terrorist organization.
The letter writers, journalists who fuelled the fire against the Sri Lanka government, they were (probably still are) spreaders of propaganda for the defeated Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, and trust CC, those two journalists definitely know how to spin a story to con Canadians into thinking that aboard the MV Sun Sea there were no terrorists and supporters of terrorism.

He followed up that gunpoint robbery at the Westin Copley Place hotel with the murder of Brisman, an exotic masseuse who was lured by her killer to the Copley Marriot.
A third woman, an exotic dancer who gave lap dances, became a victim of Markoff at the Holiday Inn Express in Rhode Island.

A semi-automatic weapon was found hidden in a hollowed-out copy of the textbook Gray’s Anatomy under Markoff’s bed. Law enforcement officials reported to The Boston Globe that tests have found a preliminary match between this weapon and the weapon used to kill Brisman. It has been reported that 16 pairs of women’s panties were found under the bed, and that among them are pairs belonging to the two victims. Police investigators believe that Markoff may have kept the panties as “souvenirs” from his alleged victims, and that there may be other victims who have not yet come forward. ABC News further reported that along with the weapon and panties police found duct tape and approximately 60 plastic flex-cuff restraints in Markoff’s apartment.Investigators said the plastic restraining ties used in the Warwick attack match those plastic ties. ABC News and The Boston Globe reported that fingerprints found on the plastic restraints and duct tape left at a crime scene matched Markoff’s fingerprints, and Markoff’s fingerprints were found in the room where Brisman was killed, police sources told ABC News.
Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley said Markoff opened an email account on April 13, the day before Julissa Brisman was killed at the Marriott Copley Hotel, using his real name and address. Police contacted the Internet-service provider linked to the email to Brisman and tracked that to Markoff’s high-rise apartment complex in Quincy.
Trisha Leffler, a prostitute who said she was bound and robbed at the Westin Hotel in Boston on April 10, told ABC Boston affiliate WCVB that she immediately recognized Markoff as the man who’d robbed her when she saw him on surveillance photos released by police.
In a search of Markoff’s apartment, police found $800 in cash, $250 worth of gift cards, and a bank card allegedly stolen from victim Trisha Leffler.
An anonymous law enforcement official quoted by the Boston Herald alleges that fingerprints belonging to Markoff were found in the hallway of the Holiday Inn Express in Warwick, Rhode Island, where a stripper offering lap-dance services has claimed that a client she met through Craigslist attempted to rob her. Markoff also allegedly sent text messages from the hotel. It has been reported that the victim in the Rhode Island robbery is reluctant to cooperate as a witness in the Markoff case.
Law enforcement sources told ABC News that Markoff had scratches on his body when he was pulled over and arrested by police on April 20.

The purpose of that hearing is to determine if Budlakoti has the right to enter Canada, or if he can be authorized to enter Canada. He was born here to parents who had immigrant status to be in Canada.

Therefore, you can be born in Canada, but apparently and this is news to me, that doesn’t mean you have a right to live in Canada. Excuse me ignorance on that matter, but fair enough. You have to wonder though if Budlakoti has known no other home but Canada, was born in Canada, but being born in Canada doesn’t mean he automatically becomes a Canadian citizen, then how in the f**k did he manage to have a Canadian passport issued in his name?
The Citizenship Act says that if your parents are foreign diplomats or under the employ of foreign diplomats in Canada at time of birth, or without citizenship papers, you are not considered Canadian even though you were born here. His parents by the way, they received their Canadian citizenship eight years after the son they failed miserably in raising was born.
I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something really stinks about this whole story, the police sting and then the move to have Budlakoti kicked out of the country, and Crooked in Canada reckons MP Ruby Dhalla just might be the person to get to the bottom of this latest immigration department bullshit.

While working in the hospitality industry in Regina, Saskatchewan for a few years back in the 80s, I had the pleasure of meeting more than my fair share of drunken injuns at the Plains Hotel, especially on ‘welfare weekends’. They were definitely a f**king handful and they were as brave as they are stupid and dysfunctional, especially under the influence of alcohol they spent pretty much their entire welfare cheque while their poor children sat at home starving, making the best of a bad situation no child should have to ever live through.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is losing support from those of us who are supporters are free speech and you know what else, the crazy f**ker is his own worst enemy.
For the past couple of weeks Assange has been playing a game that is putting allied troops in Afghanistan at risk. What he has done in that game so far is pretty farkin’ bad, so bad in fact that if you were to say stumble across an allied troop in your travels through Afghanistan (those of you stupid enough to make Afghanistan your holiday destination that is) and said “Julian Assange is a friend of yours, right?” chances are you would end up with a bullet in you. Probably many.
Julian Assange has no friends in Afghanistan, at least not on the NATO side of the fence. I reckon he might have a few on the Taliban side though.
Assange is a nasty f**king whistleblower, but he is a spineless one, willing to use people in his never ending quest of the kind of notoriety he truly believes will make him rich and famous beyond his wildest dreams.
The f**ker is not all there. That’s probably why his wife took off with their child, putting distant between her and that walking dead man she fell in love with, before he took his wife and son down with him.
Even Reporters Without Borders, an organization that fights for international press freedom, doesn’t have anything good to say about Assange; even going so far as to fire off a letter to him that states that they regret the “incredible irresponsibility” the treasonous fool has shown by releasing 77,000 secret war documents via his website.
“Reporters Without Borders has supported WikiLeaks on many cases and many things before, but this is going way too far and we can’t support that,” said Clothilde Le Coz, a spokeswoman for Reporters Without Borders.
In other words, Assange has burned that bridge and he shouldn’t expect support of any kind when the f**ker is arrested for what 61 per cent of Americans consider an act of treason. The numbers are about the same in Australia, though in Australia Assange are more likely to be assassinated by a drunken bogan before he was ever taken into custody and put on trial for treason.
Army Pte. Bradley Manning, didn’t he get reeled in by Assange, whose only reason for developing a relationship with Manning in the first place was so that Assange being the fame monger everybody close to him knows him to be, could become a major international headline.
For Assange it’s all about making himself the “centre of attention” and while Pte. Manning is pondering what fate might await him after he is tried for his crimes, that f**king piece of shit Assange is revelling in the attention he is getting, maybe even knocking back some bubbly. A celebration of sorts.
You know how it works with these f**kers, the bigger the headline, the greater the notoriety. The greater the notoriety, the greater the bank balance, though in Assange’s case he is probably going to end up dead before he cashes in on his notoriety this time around.
And what about Bradley Manning, well there he sits in Quantico wishing his mate Julian kissed him before he f**ked him.
Pte. Manning, he’s going to outlive his friend Julian (I hope he does anyway), but he is going to do it behind bars probably, unless of course military justice finds it in their hearts to cut the f**king idiot some slack.
You know, if I could afford it, I’d put a bounty on Assange’s head. I’d offer a large reward for his capture, dead or alive. I’m sure there are plenty of people on this planet who are thinking the same thing.

Reporters Without Borders, an international press freedom organisation, regrets the incredible irresponsibility you showed when posting your article “Afghan War Diary 2004 – 2010” on the Wikileaks website on 25 July together with 92,000 leaked documents disclosing the names of Afghans who have provided information to the international military coalition that has been in Afghanistan since 2001.
Wikileaks has in the past played a useful role by making information available to the US and international public that exposed serious violations of human rights and civil liberties which the Bush administration committed in the name of its war against terror. Last April’s publication of a video of the killing of two employees of the Reuters news agency and other civilians by US military personnel in Baghdad in July 2007 was clearly in the public interest and we supported this initiative. It was a response to the Obama administration’s U-turn on implementation of the Freedom of Information Act. The White House broke its word in May 2009, when it defied a court order and refused to release photos of the mistreatment of detainees in Afghanistan and Iraq.
But revealing the identity of hundreds of people who collaborated with the coalition in Afghanistan is highly dangerous. It would not be hard for the Taliban and other armed groups to use these documents to draw up a list of people for targeting in deadly revenge attacks.
Nonetheless, indiscriminately publishing 92,000 classified reports reflects a real problem of methodology and, therefore, of credibility. Journalistic work involves the selection of information. The argument with which you defend yourself, namely that Wikileaks is not made up of journalists, is not convincing. Wikileaks is an information outlet and, as such, is subject to the same rules of publishing responsibility as any other media.
Reporters Without Borders has for years been campaigning for a federal “shield law” protecting sources, one that would apply not only to the traditional media but also to the new Internet media without exception. This is why we condemn all forms of harassment of Wikileaks contributors or informants – such as the recent arrest of Wikileaks researcher Jacob Appelbaum – by government agencies and immigration officials. We also condemn the charges brought against US army intelligence analyst Bradley Manning, who is suspected of leaking the video of the Baghdad killings. However, you cannot claim to enjoy the protection of sources while at the same time, when it suits you, denying that you are a news media.
The precedent you have set leaves all those people throughout the world who risk their freedom and sometimes their lives for the sake of online information even more exposed to reprisals. Such imprudence endangers your own sources and, beyond that, the future of the Internet as an information medium. A total of 116 netizens are currently in prison in a dozen countries because of the comments they posted online. Can you image the same situation in the country of the First Amendment?
Wikileaks must provide a more detailed explanation of its actions and must not repeat the same mistake. This will mean a new departure and new methods.

Afghanistan war logs: WikiLeaks urged to remove thousands of names
Human rights groups have urged the whistleblowing website WikiLeaks to remove thousands of names from the leaked Afghanistan war logs over fears of “deadly ramifications” for the people identified.
Five human rights organisations including Amnesty International and the Open Society Institute, have written to WikiLeaks to express their concerns about the biggest leak in US military history, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The email says: “We have seen the negative, sometimes deadly ramifications for those Afghans identified as working for or sympathising with international forces. We strongly urge your volunteers and staff to analyse all documents to ensure that those containing identifying information are taken down or redacted.”
Erica Gaston, Afghanistan specialist at the Open Society Initiative, confirmed the group were alarmed by the failure of WikiLeaks to redact the names.
“We are worried about the ramifications. Unama has released its report today on the protection of civilians and one of the startling trends is that assassinations have skyrocketed in the last year,” she told the Guardian.
“The Taliban have announced they are going through these documents for names, and in the past when they have identified those in contact with the international military they have targeted them and killed them. That is our number one concern.
All of us who have reached out to WikiLeaks applaud greater transparency and accountability. But all of us who have worked on the ground in Afghanistan know that you need to make sure sources and civilians are not put in harm’s way by your work. In cases of releasing documents sometimes it is still possible to have the transparency but redacting to the names involved.”
The signatories to the letter also include the International Crisis Group and the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC).
The WikiLeaks editor, Julian Assange, replied to the letter by asking the groups concerned to help WikiLeaks redact the names. He also threatened to expose Amnesty if it refused to provide staff to help with the task, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Assange said WikiLeaks had tried to comply with a private White House request to redact the names of informants before publication, but the US authorities had refused to assist.
WikiLeaks posted more than 76,900 records of incidents and intelligence reports about the Afghan war on its website last month, providing a devastating portrait of the failing war. Some of the documents contain details of Afghans who have dealt with the coalition.
WikiLeaks withheld around 15,000 reports to protect informants.
The spat between Assange and the human rights groups appears to mark a major falling out. Last year he won Amnesty’s award for new media work for exposing extrajudicial killings in Kenya.
New Wikileaks files more damaging: Pentagon
The Pentagon has renewed pressure on whistleblower site Wikileaks not to release new secret documents on the Afghan war, saying they pose greater risks than previously released files.
“We still are hopeful Wikileaks will not publish those documents and put further lives at risk,” said Pentagon spokesman Colonel David Lapan.
“We are concerned the additional documents they have may cause even greater risks than the ones they released previously,” he said, calling them “potentially more damaging”.
Julian Assange, the Australian founder of Wikileaks, said the website planned to release a final batch of 15,000 classified files on the Afghan war.
Wikileaks last month released 76,000 classified documents about the war which included accounts of civilian casualties and purported links between Pakistan’s intelligence service and Afghanistan’s Taliban.
Media rights group Reporters Without Borders, which has supported some past work by Wikileaks, has criticised the website, saying it could put lives at risk by revealing the names of people working with coalition forces.
Assange, a former computer hacker, argues his website, founded in 2006, is boosting public debate about the war and possible atrocities by US-led forces.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said all of the documents leaked by the website “have been troubling”.
“I think we’re clear on the danger that those that are helping an effort to provide safety and security and peace to the Afghans,” Mr Gibbs said.
“That is threatened by those who wish to do us harm and those who wish to continue to garner attention for themselves by posting these documents on the internet.”

The other day it was Omar Khadr putting on a show, that ‘oh so patriotic’ red and white tie he wore to you know, make himself out to be something neither he or is family are making themselves out to be, patriotic Canadians.
Today it was his American lawyer’s turn to put on a show. Lt.-Col Jackson took a dive today, feigning a collapse in the courtroom in an effort to once again delay the inevitable; the conviction of his bomb-making, grenade tossing client, he who according to the United Nations’ doesn’t meet their criteria for being a child soldier. That’s right, even the United Nations agrees that Omar wasn’t a child soldier when that American soldier made the mistake of taking the little prick alive instead of killing him right there on the spot he was bleeding on.
How much money has Omar cost American taxpayers since he was captured in Afghanistan; what has it been now, eight years? CC reckons Omar has cost the Canadian taxpayers a few million dollars since then, and don’t even get me started on what his gunrunning brother Abdullah and his other brother, the crippled sexual deviant, has and is going to cost those same taxpayers in the future. Then there’s the welfare benefits, that free education, and healthcare costs that all taxpayers are obliged to pick up the tab for, Canadian patriot, jihad loving terrorists, or not.

He ain’t so f**king tough then, and chances are he is looking over his shoulder, making sure that one or many of his victims isn’t lurking in the shadows waiting to lay a vicious beating on him, or worse yet, pulling out automatic weapon to spray him with lead, the latter being the fate this Stanton f**k just met.
He’s dead now, and you know what, I reckon it was somebody he was about to rollover on in court. Maybe he was going to rollover on his biker brethren and to head that off, a few armed Hells Angels took him out.
Whoever took Stanton out; he has been taken out in a drive-by shooting, one that the Hells Angels will blame on a rival gang, perhaps to deflect attention away from them as suspects. Hey, it’s not like HA is not above taking out one of their own, and then making the hit out to be that of another rival gang.
Of course there are no suspects right now, but if I were to hazard a guess here, I’d say that investigators are thinking that the HA took this motherf**ker out, that they were embarrassed and humiliated by his antics, or they were worried about that court appearance Stanton was supposed to make today, after he was busted for several assaults he committed in bars while wearing HA’s colours.

A drunken Indian man was arrested after auctioning of his six-year-old daughter for 1000 rupees ($US21) so he could buy some grog.
The story in The Times of India says that Krishnaiah auctioned off the little girl in the street after the manager at the local liquor store, refused to give him any more booze, because the ‘loving father’ owed the owner money.
The street auction took place in south-central India.
Cops arrested the son of a bitch and his little girl has been rescued.

Briana Rose Murray was sentenced to 16 months in jail for her part in the racist attack that occurred in Christchurch in August 2009.

A new Ipsos-Reid poll has PM Stephen Harper’s conservatives in ‘a near dead heat’ with the Michael Ignatieff’s Liberals.
Like WTF man, are the pollsters still smoking crack in Canada, or in this particular instance, is Ipsos-Reid being retained by the Liberal Party of Canada to act as its propaganda machine.
There is no f**king way that the Liberals could garner 31 per cent of the decided vote if a federal election were called today, tomorrow or any time soon. Nothing like conducting a poll while parliament is ‘out for summer’. The respondents to this survey must have been thinking, “WTF, parliament isn’t even in session. Who has done what this summer, and has it been good for Canada?”
This f**king poll means shit Canada and it comes a month after they conducted their last poll, a poll which pretty much concluded the same thing as this latest one has.
1000 adults were polled for this survey, having picked up the telephone while they were sitting down to dinner with the family, or maybe they were kicking back with a cold one, relaxing and enjoying summer. Whatever it was they were doing, I reckon most of respondents would have been pretty f**king annoyed that somebody interrupted whatever it was they were doing with a phone call about something nobody really cares about during summer and when Parliament isn’t in session.

The Canadian government is worried about a cargo ship with 200 Tamils on board sailing toward Canada. It is worried about who might be onboard that ship. They are saying that is important to send a message that Canada should not be viewed as an easy entry into North America.
Right on. So Mr. PM, why not let the Canadian Navy turn the cargo ship back when it enters Canadian waters, at gunpoint if necessary.
If that’s not an option, how about escorting the MV Sun Sea to someplace remote ,to detain the wannabe illegal immigrants until they are processed.

Australia has Christmas Island to deal with the influx of boat people the navy intercepts in their waters, and they apparently working on a deal to detain them in Papua New Guinea.
Surely, there must be a few remote communities along the north-western Canadian coastline (the Yukon?) that can house the 200 illegals until the government decides what to do with them; sending them back to where they came from being the preferred option.
The threat of members of the outlawed Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam being on that ship far outweighs any compassionate reason to let that ship reach Canadian shores, and to alleviate that threat the federal government needs to take a tougher stand.

Government ‘concerned’ about Canada-bound illegal immigrants
The Canadian government made clear on Monday it is worried about who is aboard the cargo ship reportedly smuggling 200 Tamil migrants bound for British Columbia, and pronounced that it is “important to send a message that Canada should not be viewed as an easy entry into North America.”
Speaking at the Economic Club of Toronto, Public Safety Minister Vic Toews singled out marine human smuggling as an “emerging” concern and vowed that the government is working to equip officials with the “physical and legal means to prevent illegal migration and human smuggling.”
His comments come amid reports that human smugglers are monitoring how Canada deals with the arrival of the 59-metre Thai vessel known as the MV Sun Sea, which is slated to enter Canadian waters within weeks, if not days.
“I don’t want to comment on the operational details, but I can assure you that we are concerned about who is on that ship and why they might be coming to Canada,” Mr. Toews told guests at the luncheon yesterday. “The problem of human smuggling and illegal migration is a serious one, and the abuse of our immigration system is something that our government will not tolerate.”
The MV Sun Sea, which authorities have been monitoring all summer, is potentially carrying members of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, a terrorist group outlawed in Canada.
“There is reason to believe that a listed terrorist entity, the LTTE, may be involved in organizing and carrying out this activity,” Mr. Toews said.
“The LTTE, I remind you, is an organization that has engaged in the widespread use of suicide bombings against civilian targets in Sri Lanka, and used extortion and intimidation to raise funds within the Canadian Tamil community.”
Although he said it is important that Ottawa send a clear message about its concern for people-smuggling, John Thompson, a security expert and president of the Toronto-based Mackenzie Institute, said it will be difficult for the government to broadcast any such signal.
“Unfortunately, [the government’s] hands are tied by our refugee laws and practices,” he said. “The police will go ‘This one’s a Tiger, this one’s a Tiger, and this one’s a Tiger,’ and nothing else will be done about it. The refugee board will do what it always does — it’s far more work to make a refusal than it is just to say ‘yes,’ and then they’ll be in.”
“Canada is simply an easy place to get into,” echoed Peter St. John, associate Professor of Political Studies at the University of Manitoba, where he specializes in intelligence and terrorism.
Mr. St. John said human smuggling by ship is a method that is “going to be used again, and again, and again,” especially because the government will be hard-pressed to find some way to show asylum seekers that entering the country this way is unacceptable.
“It’s hard to know how to send a signal,” Mr. St. John said. “If you turn them all away, that’s a very dramatic signal, and you’d have to live with yourself if something were to happen to these people.”
Further tying the government’s hands is the fact that once a migrant smuggling vessel is in international waters, it cannot be forcibly turned back — which is why Mr. Toews yesterday said the government is working with countries at “points far away from North America” to halt these ships before they even leave port.
The MV Sun Sea, last seen in July off the coast of Guatemala, is remniscent of the Ocean Lady, which arrived in B.C. last October carrying 76 Sri Lankan migrants. All were released after three months in custody and many then moved to Toronto.
According to a Canada Border Services Agency report — marked secret and obtained by the Vancouver Sun through the Access to Information Act — at least 25 of the 76 migrants were members of the Tamil Tigers.
“Movement of a large number of high-value combatants and intelligence officers aboard the Ocean Lady may be part of an effort by surviving members of the group to reconstitute from a base of operations overseas in order to renew resistance … to Sri Lanka,” the report says.
However, Douglas Cannon, a Vancouver lawyer who represents some of the Ocean Lady migrants, said those aboard the ship have legitimate refugee claims — which, he said, may also prove true of the MV Sun Sea.
“These people have solid grounds for being concerned about their return to Sri Lanka,” he said, adding that as far as he knows none of the Ocean Lady claimants has faced a refugee hearing. “It could be anything from being perceived as a potential threat to the Sri Lankan government, to being a relative of those suspected, to being in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
The Canadian Tamil Congress, which held a forum in Toronto last night to discuss the anticipated arrival of the MV Sun Sea and Canada’s role in protecting refugees, is urging the government to consider the migrants on a case-by-case basis. They argue that the situation in Sri Lanka, where a civil war ended last year between government forces and the separatist Tamil Tigers rebels, is so dire that people are willing to risk their lives by fleeing via the sea to Canada.
“People who land on our shores should be treated with dignity and given due process,” said Gary Anandasangaree, legal counsel for the congress, adding that he is “not aware” of any former Tamil Tigers arriving via ship to Canada in the past. “I don’t think there should be carte-blanche acceptance of these people as refugees, but I think the cases should be considered on a case-by-case basis.”
Still, Mr. Thompson, the security expert, said it is pretty much a “dead-certain guarantee that there are members of the Tamil Tigers aboard the [MV Sun Sea],” and said that while these people may not pose a direct threat to Canadians, many are skilled in organized crime and could pursue violent activities.

Judge allows evidence Khadr’s lawyers say was obtained through torture
U.S. NAVAL BASE GUANTANAMO, Cuba — The most damning evidence against Omar Khadr is admissible at his trial since it is not the product of torture, the military judge in the prosecution of the Canadian-born terrorism suspect ruled Monday.
The decision by army Col. Patrick Parrish covers a series of self-incriminating statements Khadr made during interrogations, and a video that appears to show him helping to build and plant roadside bombs with other al-Qaida suspects.
The ruling came a little more than an hour after the Toronto native pleaded not guilty to the five charges against him. It opens the way for Khadr’s trial to begin Tuesday before a military commission at the U.S. naval base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Khadr potentially faces life in prison if convicted of the charges, which include murder in the fatal wounding of a U.S. serviceman during the July 2002 firefight in Afghanistan that led to his capture, when Khadr was 15.
Khadr reacted to Parrish’s ruling by turning to one of his Canadian lawyers, Dennis Edney, who sat next to him.
“His comments to me were, ‘We’re just embarrassing ourselves by being here,’ ” Edney later told reporters.
He said he told Khadr that was not the case.
“It’s our intention and our hope during this trial to shame this judge — which may be impossible,” Edney said. “We hope we can shame the jury so they can really get a true picture of what Omar stands for.”
Khadr appeared in court after declaring at a hearing last month he planned to boycott his trial. But Edney said he now expected Khadr to show up Tuesday, when selection will begin of 15 U.S. officers who will serve as the commission “members” and perform the duties of a jury.
“But anything can happen,” said Edney.
Khadr had claimed in a February 2008 affidavit that he faced abuse while interrogated during his confinement, which saw him spend three months in Bagram, Afghanistan, before his transfer to the Guantanamo detention camps.
His U.S. defence lawyers — the only ones allowed to speak for him in court — described some of the abuse as torture at marathon hearings in April and May. They also claimed the U.S. military had found the video based on information Khadr had provided as a result of the alleged abuse.
Parrish made no comment on why he was admitting the statements, but said he would issue a “detailed” explanation later. He said he concluded that the video — which a U.S. military unit found some weeks after the firefight in the rubble of the compound Khadr and the other al-Qaida suspects had occupied — was obtained “completely independent of anything the accused had said.”
Parrish did, however, deny the prosecution permission to screen, during the trial, excerpts of a documentary depicting the events of Sept. 11, 2001.
According to Parrish, scenes of planes crashing into buildings should have no part in the government’s case.
Parrish said he would review other parts of the documentary, titled The al-Qaida Plan, to assess their suitability for the trial.
Ahead of Parrish’s ruling, army Lt.-Col. Jon Jackson, Khadr’s Pentagon-appointed lawyer, made a final argument for suppression of the self-incriminating statements. The defence has asserted that Khadr had become conditioned by the alleged abuse to admitting to the offences he’s accused of committing.
“By the time he left Bagram, he was broken . . . by the actions of people in uniform . . . specifically Interrogator No. 1,” he said referring to Khadr’s chief Bagram interrogator — a soldier who was later convicted in court martial for “maltreatment” of another detainee.
Jackson recalled that the interrogator had sought to frighten Khadr by making up a story of how an unco-operative Muslim detainee had been dispatched to a U.S. prison and raped there by other inmates.
“Once he said those words to Mr. Khadr, the well was poisoned, and the government can’t cleanse the well . . . by saying someone (else) came in and was nice to him,” Jackson told the court.
“To him, when he was interrogated, all those faces were the same.”
Jackson urged the judge to consider the “outcry” by the U.S. government if a U.S. soldier had been the victim of such scenario.
“Tell the world that we actually stand for what we say we stand for,” Jackson said to the judge.
But air force Capt. Chris Eason, one of the prosecutors, said Khadr had switched to speaking in detail about his alleged actions not because he had faced any tough interrogation, but after the United States presented him with a video U.S. forces had found that showed the Toronto native appearing to take part in a mine-making and laying operation.
Eason quoted from the earlier testimony of one of the interrogators, who said: “That’s when the floodgates opened.”
According to Eason, Khadr’s self-incriminating statements were “truth that we can rely on.”
Part of the prosecution’s argument for inclusion of the statements had involved the showing of another video — this one showing Khadr warning Guantanamo guards trying to weigh him that “God will take . . . revenge” on the United States.
“I am here in prison but there are millions of people outside,” Khadr also says in the May 2006 clip. “What’s happening to you is not for nothing.”
Khadr references the video in his 2008 affidavit, saying guards mistreated him during the weighing session, claiming they “pressed on my pressure points.”
While Jackson said the clip shows that Khadr was right, Eason said it provided a “window” into alleged fabrications in the rest of the affidavit.
Indeed, to many it appears to show the guards somewhat restrained as they push him toward the scale and point out that all his “brothers” — a reference to other detainees — had allowed themselves to be weighed without protest.
“Come on, man, it’s not that bad,” says a guard after Khadr claimed the treatment was a “very small example of what’s really going on” at the detention facility.
“We’re not doing this to hurt you, torture you,” another guard’s voice is heard saying, amid explanations that his weight was simply needed for his health record and Red Cross review records.
After Khadr had spent about 20 minutes resisting the guards, there came indications that he may have been playing to the camera, as he switched from the English he used to speak to the guards, to Arabic to speak with fellow detainees in nearby cells.
“May God reward him. The camera is with him,” a detainee shouts in Arabic, which had been translated in subtitles.
Edney dismissed the video as a “distraction from his abuse and treatment over the years.”

The children had been in foster care prior to last Thursday’s appeals court ruling in which a judge stated that there was evidence of abuse in the home.

Thankfully, the children will be cared for; though I hope for their sakes they won’t stay in the system for too long and will be able to stay together. Their names will be changed and the healing process for the harm their whack job parents has done to them will begin.
As for the parents, I’m thinking Easy-Bake Oven, maybe nuking them–you know, giving them a little taste of what the Nazis did to the Jews and what the Americans did to the Japanese in Nagasaki and Hiroshima, during the Second World War. How about this f**king moron. His name is Rourke Desmanche (native Indian maybe–the last name) and he apparently assaulted a 7-week-old boy who is in hospital with life-threatening injuries, and he assaulted a three-year-old too. Rumor has it that he was the victim’s father. The story that is unravelling includes sexual assault, at least that’s what the police and the Children’s Aid Society are investigating at the moment.
F**k man, if this guy sexually assaulted an infant, I hope he isn’t taken alive.
An Aside: While I’m on the subject of infants and sexual assault, I know a guy whose sister alleges that he sexually assaulted her when she was an infant.
She’s a nasty piece of work that sister of his, and unfortunately his memory of that is non-existent given that he would have been three years old when this apparently went down.
Maybe somebody could offer me some insight to that–like if it is even possible for a three-year-old to do such a thing.
Police have issued warrants for the native Canadian drug dealing gang member and he is considered dangerous. Whoever sees this sick f**k first, I hope or she does the world a favour and takes him out. Beat him to death, stab him, run him over or put a bullet in him–yeppers that would work for me. Canada’s most prolific serial killer, Robert ‘Willy’ Pickton–connoisseur of a good piece of meat, most notably pork, is going to spend the rest of his f**king life behind bars at the Canadian taxpayers’ expense.
Let’s say it cost $70,000.00(Canadian funds of course) a year (and you know it f**king will at the very least) to house the BC pig farmer and he lives for another 20-25 years; all up and that’s not including incidentals and the taxpayer is going to be on the hook for what, between $1.4-million (wouldn’t that feed a lot of homeless starving drug addicts, hookers and children on the street) and $1.5-million. Then there’s the cost of his funeral to add on to that, other investigations and the ensuing government inquiries into the handling of the case, blah, blah, blah.
You know what, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN CHEAPER TO EXECUTE THE MOTHERF**KER. Bring back the death penalty Canada, that’s what I f**king say. To hang him and to bury him after he exhausted all his avenues to appeal his death sentence, yeah it would still be cheaper than letting the sorry f**k live another 20-25 years.

Remember this Supreme Court’s judges name, “Christopher Speyer”, especially should it turn out in the future that Abdullah is implicated– if he does not outright detonate the bomb itself, in a terrorist attack on Canadian soil.
The story:
TORONTO — An Ontario court on Wednesday quashed a bid to extradite Abdullah Khadr to the U.S. on terrorism charges following a lengthy legal battle between the federal government and one of Canada’s most controversial families.
Khadr, 29, who has been held for the past five years at a Toronto detention centre, was immediately released following the decision by Superior Court Justice Christopher Speyer.
Khadr is the eldest son of Ahmed Said Khadr, an al-Qaida financier who was killed by Pakistan forces in a shootout near the Afghanistan border in 2003. His family had immigrated to Canada in 1977.
“(I want to) try and get on with my life. I feel very happy,” Abdullah Khadr told reporters outside the downtown Toronto courthouse. “I always believed that it would happen one day, and thank God it happened.”
His release comes days before his younger brother, Omar, begins his military trial in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Omar Khadr, 23, the only Canadian still held at the U.S. prison, has been detained there since 2002 following a firefight with U.S. forces in Afghanistan. He is charged with throwing a grenade that killed American medic Christopher Speer. He was 15 years old at the time.
From the start, Prime Minister Stephen Harper has refused to seek the repatriation of the terror suspect back to Canada but, notably, Canada’s legal system has sided many times with the Khadr family in its battles with the Canadian government.
In January, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that Omar Khadr’s charter rights had been violated by Canadian officials who had questioned him at Guantanamo Bay in 2003 and 2004. Khadr had been exposed to sleep deprivation and denied his right to legal counsel by American interrogators.
Last month, a Federal Court judge ruled that the Conservative government had a week to come up with a list of “all untried remedies” that could help eradicate the breach of Khadr’s rights as a Canadian citizen. That victory was short-lived — a few weeks later, a Federal Appeals judge stayed the decision, arguing that the previous judge overstepped his boundaries and was essentially dictating the government foreign policy.
Meanwhile, the U.S. case against Abdullah Khadr was based on a number of statements he made to the FBI and RCMP about procuring weapons for al-Qaida and allegedly being involved in an assassination plot against the prime minister of Pakistan. He said those confessions were made while he was detained and tortured in Pakistan in 2005.
During his extradition hearing last fall, Khadr told a Toronto court that authorities had also threatened violence against his family.
“If someone tells you, if you don’t tell us you are selling missiles to al-Qaida, we are going to rape your sister, what would you say?” Khadr had asked, breaking down.
He told the court that he attended a camp in Afghanistan when he was 13 years old and learned how to use guns, explosives and rocket and grenade launchers. Khadr said these were not terrorism camps run by al-Qaida but were part of “Muslim culture.” He denied that his father had any influence over his ideology.
Nathan Whitling, one of the Edmonton-based defence lawyers representing Khadr, said this victory may have been the best-case scenario possible for his client but the battle is far from finished.
“We don’t feel that it’s over,” he said. “We see it as one good step in the process. Obviously we’re pleased about it but we’ll keep fighting this thing.”
The Canadian government has been on the “wrong side” these past five years by “actively pursuing” the extradition of his client to the U.S., added Whitling.
He and his colleague Dennis Edney had argued that Canada would be supporting interrogation methods against international law if it granted the extradition request. They also argued that the information was given under extreme duress.
Ultimately, Justice Speyer’s ruling was based on how the U.S. detained and drew a confession out of Khadr, who to this day maintains his innocence.
Khadr was arrested in Pakistan in 2004 after the U.S. government issued a $500,000 U.S. bounty for his capture. He was denied access to a lawyer for three months and held a total of 14 months in Pakistan without charges. During this time he was interrogated by Pakistani, Canadian and American officials.
Whitling said Khadr, fearing arrest by U.S. authorities, plans to stay in Canada.
In the meantime, he will enjoy the small pleasures in life. For his first meal outside of detention in five years, he ate an Asian stir-fry and drank a Pepsi.
“He’s getting married. He’s engaged,” said Whitling. “He just wants to settle down and live a quiet life.”
The federal government has 30 days to appeal the Ontario Superior Court ruling.
Carole Faindon, a spokeswoman for the Department of Justice, said it was too soon to say whether an appeal will be launched.
“We are reviewing the decision,” she said. “A decision on an appeal will be determined in due time.”
