World-renowned yacht designer Joe Adams has been found dead in his home in the Philippines (why would anybody in their right mind want to live in that shithole of country by the way); his head nearly taken off with a machete. One would think that the kind of fortune he made during his lifetime he could have afforded better security, leading this blogger to believe that his murder was an inside job. Maybe his wife did it, huh.

And in another news story about yachting, only Glenn Ely is lucky he is still alive; an Air Canada Boeing 777 carrying passengers from Vancouver, Canada to Sydney, Australia helped save him after 16 hours of drifting in the Tasman Sea.  An Air New Zealand A320 was also involved in the search of Gold Coast sailor, but it was passengers travelling on the Air Canada flight, and who just happened to have binoculars with them, that spotted Mr. Ey sitting on his stricken yacht in the dark sea at just around midnight.

Way to go Air Canada.
